Just looking for advice regarding my situation. I know there's a lot of advice already posted, I know that the easiest thing to do is probably just to pay a border agent, but I want to ask for advice anyway.
I first arrived in Thailand in August of '22, then recieved a Non-B (legitimately) in September through the company (teaching agency) that hired me. I worked for that company until March '24, then went back to the US. I returned to Thailand in early January for a wedding and realized I didn't really want to live in the USA anymore. I was able to secure another job for the next academic year (signed contract and everything), but that won't start until May. My 60 days are up in March - what's the best course of action? Should I leave before the 60 days are up and then try to return (after a few days or weeks) without getting the 30 day extension first? Should I just go somewhere else until May?
I am currently travelling SEA since March 2024 and have spent most of my time in Thailand. It must have been 8 Months in total already. Last time I entered Thailand via plane, I was pulled out at immigration and was questioned, why I want to enter Thailand again. I am currently in Laos and plan to stay for 30 days - I arrived 3 days ago and plan to go back to Thailand, before going back home to Germany. Now I am quite concerned that my entry will be denied.
What is my best bet? Would a tourist Visa help in this case? I already tried to apply, but I seem to need a permanent address in Laos?! Could someone please help me understand?
Hello, I am thinking about applying for the DTV visa, but I wanted to know in which country the application is easiest to do, fastest and most likely to succeed. I see a lot of people doing it in Vietnam. I live in France but my file is not really complete
I’m currently in Thailand and want to apply for the DTV visa. As far as I know, it can’t be done directly from Thailand. Has anyone experienced this and knows the best way to do it?
I’m considering traveling to a nearby country for a week, like Bali or Sri Lanka, to apply from there. Does anyone know which country is best for this and how long the processing time usually takes?
Since the processing time is unclear, I assume I’d need to book a one-way flight and wait for approval before booking a return ticket – or is there a better way to handle this?
So how easy is it to re enter Thailand with the DTV? I’m talking just if I want to travel to Vietnam to surf or visit my home country every once in a while. I had such a hard time even entering on my first DTV entry, I’m Australian and have only ever been in Thailand once on a visa exemption that’s it. Scared to even leave the country incase I get denied entry. Do fast track services increase chances of being let in easier?
(edited) The DTV launched in July last year, so during the past couple of weeks, the first visa holders who stayed the full initial 180 days should have started leaving and re-entering Thailand. For anyone who has recently done this, could you please tell us of your experiences. I am particularly curious about people who obtained their visa based on something short term (like a four month cooking class), and whether they were scrutinised by Immigration Officers on whether their original DTV justification is ongoing. Cheers.
