For those of you who have done the DTV while on business visa, did you just fly out with the Non b and back in with the DTV?

Appreciate the response from those who have done it.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the process of transitioning from a Business visa (Non-B) to a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while in Thailand. It is confirmed that individuals on the first 90 days of a Non-B visa can leave Thailand and return with a DTV. However, those with a work extension must cancel their work permit and extension before applying for the DTV to avoid potential issues with future immigration requests and fines.

If you're on the first 90 days from a non-B visa then you can just leave and get the DTV and return.

If you're on a work extension (the stamp in your passport says "extension of stay") then you would need to cancel your work permit and your work extension first.

If you don't do that, the embassy might not grant you a new visa.

Also if you need anything from immigration in the future, they may deny your request until you cancel your work extension and fine you 500 baht per day from the day you stopped working up to a maximum of 20,000 baht.

I came here to ask the same question. I've read online that when entering into Thailand with a DTV some people were questioned whether they have/had work in Thailand. Would having multiple non-b extensions (expired/cancelled) be a reason to deny the DTV request? The application is done from abroad

not that I know of as long as the previous visa was cancelled correctly. They shouldn't have any reason to deny or question. I haven't heard of anyone having issues
