Definitely wouldn't go to Cambodia.

Originally went to Kasikorn in Pattaya and had no problems. I do believe though there's been a tightening up of bank accounts because of criminals.

back about eight years ago. Be aware that the banks don't work like here in Australia. Each branch is considered a branch in its own right. If you open an account say Pattaya and withdraw say Bangkok you'll be charged a fee.

You might need to get a head man to vouch for you. Though I opened a bank account with Kbank in Pattaya with no problems. However, the government has tighten up the rules for foreigners to have a bank account.

I was disgusted when that decision was made. It really stuffed many retirees around, forcing them to return to Australia to get their paperwork fixed. Really messed people about. So much for service from ones government.

0 has remain in your bank 6 months before and after. With a 1 year OA the money will have to stay there. The rules were changed either during or just after the pandemic.
