 A-O is applied for in remote country. Straight O retirement is applied for inside Thailand. FWIR

You have to go to the boi first and apply there to get the letter. Then use it to apply for the visa.

Is the new ETA form for entering Thailand similar to the old TM6 form?

From what I've heard the big difference is that the ETA is only for people not on a visa. The TM6 if/when it comes back will be for everyone.

 technically no because the extension can be refused. But most would probably accept it as you at least acknowledging the requirement.

I did it via Chicago they didn’t ask how long just needed to see it in an account. My letter just said on this date account was worth x amount.
