Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience since this group has been really helpful!

I submitted my DTV visa application in the Philippines on Monday and received it today (Thursday). I initially thought Monday would be counted as Day 1, but it turns out they started counting from Tuesday, so it only took 3 days to process!

Here are the documents I submitted:

* Contract (proof of work)

* Employment verification (confirming that I'm currently working)

* Detailed explanation of what I do + screenshots

* Bank statement (last 6 months) – I deposited a large amount in the last 4 days (around $10,000 in total) to show sufficient funds

* My previous ED visa stamp + cancellation proof

* Current rental contract (where I’m staying now)

* Philippines entry stamp + hotel booking (used my current address for this)

Since I have a Korean passport, the visa fee was $0!

thank you eveyronee

After 5 Business Days, exactly, I’ve been APPROVED in HCMC! Workcation! I’m on my way back to Bangkok on Saturday 🙌🏽🥳

Editing per request in comments:

I applied on Wednesday, Jan 15th at 3p. On Thurs, they requested 6 months of bank statements (I only submitted sponsorship letters and screenshots of deposits as income, initially). I was approved Thurs, Jan 23rd.

My complete submission was around 90 pages- 45 for Financial and 45 for Portfolio. I compressed right in Adobe to meet 3mb.

Financial Package:

Cover Letter

6 months statements showing just my savings balance at $17k USD.

2 sponsorship letters from clients (I am an independent consultant, I build and manage training platforms, among other operational & finance responsibilities)

6 invoices for my clients (3 for each, with screen shots of payments)

My lease for my condo in Bangkok, with proof of payment

My 2023 tax return doc to show previous work experience

Portfolio

My business registration

EIN files with IRS

My Business Operating Agreement

My contract with my business

My Independent Business Organization agreement with one client

My Service Agreement with another client

Screenshots of works- my website, the learning platform for one client, screen shots of a website I built for another client

My Bachelors Degree

My MBA transcripts

A couple screenshots of things I intend to learn in Bangkok- classes at a language school and short courses at Sasin Univ

That’s it, I think lol

DTV.

.

Should i apply on a website or walk in to an embassy?

.

I see this has been done both by different youtuber.

.

I will be going to Cambodia to re-enter Thailand, so it going to be a Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh.

.

Im also collecting my Documents.

.

✅ Proof of cash, I have a bank statement showing 300k AUD under my personal name. [not business name]

.

✅ Proof of employment - Im writing a letter to prove that I work for myself.

.

✅ Proof of Current location- Im actually unsure of this. it could be my hotel in Cambodia once booked.

.

✅ Passport and Photo. those are easy to get on that day.

.

Question

1- does anyone has any experience with the phnom penh embassy?

2- is my letter good enough?

3- should I go to Cambodia and apply thru embassy or do online , or will there any difference?

Applied online from Australia well over a 12 days ago.

Keep getting questions about providing my portfolio. I finally got frustrated and called the Thai embassy for answers. They stated that my business " didnt look legitimate", even thought its been operating for 4 years. They want a detailed breakdown of work I do as well as invoices to clients.

My website is fine... I dont understand what is going on here.

Anyone else had this sort of issue?

Self employed and applying in Ho Chi Minh

I have bank statements, client contracts, paid invoices, etc.

Do i need to submit my business registration and/or tax ID?

And is there any other documentation that can give me an advantage for quick approval?

If both are needed, i can submit, but i need to make sure I have every single doc to make this smooth as possible as most of my life is currently in Thailand since I've been living here a few months hahah

Hi, does anyone have experience with applying for DTV being a new remote worker?

Situation is person has been on Ed visa for almost a year. They are now about to start remote work and apply for a DTV.

The work is legitimate remote online work with overseas company with contract. Can get letters, company registration etc if needed. Has required money in savings. Has lease already in place from time as student. Planning to apply in Hanoi.

Just concerned there’s no history of work with any employer previously. Has anyone else had issues applying with a new job?

Thanks !

Next week I am gonna apply in Jakarta and wanted to summarize all documents.

After the process I will share a detailled explanation about my experience there.

I will hand over in an ENVELOPE:

- Visa Application form

- 2 passphotos 3.5*4.5

- 5.6 Million IDR in cash

- INTRODUCTION LETTER applying for DTV workcation category, confirming can work remotely,

explaining my work, mentioning employer, position, salary and ability to take care of myself and my keen interest to live in Thailand

- REMOTE WORKING CONTRACT - employee can preform their duties remotely from any location abroad with wet stamp and signature from both parties

- 1 PAYSLIP from 1.10.24 (started to work for US Company with 1.09.24)

- BANK STATEMENTS: transfered savings from brooker and other accounts over 14k € a few days ago to wise account. On 1.10.24 first salary receivement, usually had just a few hundreds or thousands € on Account over the last couple month, provide 1-2 months statements

- PROOF OF CURRENT LOCATION: AIRBNB in Jakarta, receipt and pdf for visa purposes

-TRAVEL INSURANCE - it is mentioned in contract and supports the ability to support myself

I am from Germany, 2024 have been in Thailand for more than 180 days. More or less since 15.3 (with border runs and short travels) - stamp expiration 18.10

I have a rental Agreement(in Thailand) from 01.09.24 - open end.

In the remote working contract, which I signed in August, I have my current Thai address in - could ask for change, if necessary.

Any recommendations or adjustments? Appreciate any kind of help 🙏🏽

Just got my DTV approved from Thai embassy in Yangon. Here’s the process:

Got an online appointment two weeks prior. Arrived at the embassy at 9 am, 24th. Submitted all the documents. (Work contract, employment verification letter, six months of bank statement, six months’ payslips, rental contract in Thailand) .

The lady at the counter asked me to come back at 2 for an interview. The Thai staff who interviewed me was very kind. Asked usual questions about my job and why I wanted to live in Thailand. Paid 400 USD and was asked to collect the passport two days later.

The process was smooth. As long as you have your documents in place, I believe they won’t make it difficult for you.

Thanks to everyone who shared their experience here. 🙏
