Hello all. I am on a retirement visa, have been here 9 years. If I can show my Amazon page with six published books and plenty of reviews, plus good behavior here for years and an ample Thai bank account, would authoring books (in the US) be considered sufficient proof of remote work? Thanks y'all, good site.
I’m looking to move to Thailand but unsure what Visa to go with. I’m 100% disabled and don’t work. So I’m unsure if I would qualify for DTV. I meet the other requirements. I could start freelancing but idk how long of a work history I need to show.
Hello, I'm actually gathering all the paperwork I need to submit a DTV visa. Is anyone here a freelancer and has their DTV approved? I only find people sharing experiences as remote workers for companies. I have doubts about taxes, bank accounts...ect Thank you in advance!
I've looked in the group and tried to search but have not found an answser for this question and I'm really worried about it. I'm applying for DTV with soft power (muay thai) and I have a job which I can currently do remote (temporarily).
What do I fill in in the 'Employment details' section? I'm worried they will reject my application if I mentioned my job or at best tell me I should apply with remote worker option instead of softpower.
Please can someone who knows who's in the same situation as me tell me what they did and if they got approved?
Just came back to Thailand from Cambodia on my new DTV. Some might be interested as I was on ED visa previously.
I applied as a freelancer. Provided business registration, contract with my main client (translated in english), 6 month of invoices for this client (in english) 6 month of bank statements with highlighted payments from this client, and 6 month of saving accounts statements with the required funds. As a reference, my income is low, few hundred euros per month, but steady.
Also added an export of my linkedin profile in english, a capture of my profesional website, and a letter stating my expertise and current activities.
It took exactly 10 business days for me to get approved, not counting the day I submitted. Went to pending approval on day 2. Got approved on business day 11, late afternoon. No update in the middle whatsoever.
Printed my DTV. Came back the day after through DMK (not BKK). Paid extra for fast pass as some here suggested it might be smoother.
Handed my passport to the (female) officer (some seem to think it makes a difference) with printed DTV.
She did not mention at all my ED visa current extension and related stamp of re-entry permit. She did not try to test my thai language.
Just asked me what I was doing, I said I work online for a company in my country. She asked if I got the money in my country. I said yes.
She checked some kind of unidentified logbook, then proceeded to stamp me in for 6 month.
Finally free from the ED golden cage, at least until immigration starts not liking DTV for some random reason🙏
Any question let me know, and good luck everyone 🤞
I have been a Professional Top Rated Freelancer on PeoplePerHour since 2020. I have my freelancing savings of $16,000 USD. I'm eligible for DTV Visa ?? Much appreciated for your response.
If I apply for the soft power option, then can I still work remotely as a freelancer LEGALLY? Just wondering because the soft power version seems easier to get.
Some people have been asked for their job at the airport. Would that be a weird situation with soft power option? Thank you
I am freelancer but I never had customer yet, can I still apply for DTV?
I have required amount in bank account and have experience in my field but I'm starting my freelance activities and want to go Thailand on DTV. Are they gonna ask me proof that I have customer or is it not required?
Hi everyone, I m actually on ED Visa while earning money, and I’m now planning to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) as a freelancer. My concern is whether the bank statement I provide, showing earnings during my time on the ED Visa, could impact my chances of getting approved for the DTV. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice?
