My wife and I enrolled in a language school in Chiang Mai, the school applied to the Ministry of Education for us and our documents arrived 45 days later. Now they will apply to the immigration office for an education visa and our visas will be issued in 21 days, but we have a 4-year-old daughter and we will apply for a dependent visa for her, the immigration office said that they will give our daughter a dependent visa during the first extension (i.e. during the first 90-day report after receiving the education visas). The school says that after my wife and I receive our visas, we have to go abroad and come back again for our daughter, there must be a mistake here, can't the 4-year-old child apply at the same time as us and get a dependent visa? Since she cannot act independently of us, how will she go abroad and come back? If If we wait for our first visa extension, this time our daughter will have to stay in the country illegally. In this case (if she remains illegal), they say she will not be able to get a dependent visa. Please help.

Retirement visa question…

I’m a 68 year old American and my wife if an under 50 Chinese national. We are legally married in USA but no green card. If I get a standard retirement visa, i.e, 800k bank deposit and proof of income, can she be attached to my visa as a depended?

I am about to apply for a DTV visa in March, and I’m getting married by the end of this year. I know dependents also qualify for DTV visas, but the question is: can my soon-to-be wife also apply for her DTV visa as my dependent next year, or must she be my dependent at the time of my own DTV visa application? Thanks a lot!

My wife and I are currently in the US but are moving to Thailand next month. I was just approved for a non oa retirement visa. My wife is not yet 50 years old. What I understand is that she can get a dependent visa as my spouse until she turns 50. It seems like the dependent visa is a non o visa. Is that correct? We are trying to get her visa done before leaving the US also but it’s a little unclear on the E-Visa site if the non o is really what we should be applying for. Has anyone here done this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, new to the group. I'm looking to bring a parent under the LTR wealthy pensioner visa. Does anyone know what requirements are for a parent coming as a dependent? I understand that parents can now be included as dependents.

Getting a retirement visa (O Visa)

Goal:

1) 6 months in Thailand at first, Me alone

2) return to Australia for two months

3) Bring wife and child to Thailand (korean wife/Australian Child)

My thinking:

a) arrive in Thailand, visa on arrival, 2months stay. (Or apply for a Tourist visa before leaving Australia)

b) start applying for a retirement visa (O- visa) on second month.

c) before the end of my 6 month stay, I'll have a retirement visa, and hopefully, obtained in Early November, which is a better month for me to renew in the future

Doing this, it lays down the groundwork to get my wife and child as dependent from my visa.

*As a few years back, I recall we couldn't apply all at the same time, wife and child had to be outside of Thailand and once I got my Retirement visa (O-Visa) I then could do a dependance visa from my Visa. (still the same deal?)*

Wife thinks it's better if she gets a guardian visa for herself and child and I get my own visa(Ovisa)

Your thoughts?

Much appreciated

Can anyone validate this?

In Thailand, a "trailing spouse" visa is now available for same-sex couples following the legalization of same-sex marriage, meaning that a non-Thai partner of a Thai citizen in a same-sex marriage can apply for a dependent visa to live in Thailand with their spouse.

If this is not an option, what other options does my wife have to stay while I work in Thailand?
