Edited to add new context:

Evidently Chaengwattana does NOT typically need a TM-27 (despite the comments below). The situation that makes this different is that I have not filed a 90 day report at my new home in Bangkok (because I've left the country multiple times and not stayed long enough for a 90 day report) so my last 90 day report from last year still reflects my old address. That's the cause of the situation and need to return next week.

----

Saw a related topic and thought I'd share a cautionary tale from today's visit to Chaengwattana. Error on my part, hopefully will get it worked out. Hadn't heard of this happening before, but I'm sure it has. Immigration officer said I was the second person today with a similar experience. Had been living in Hua Hin for a couple years then started to split my time with a place I rented in Bangkok.

Did the last two extensions of stay in Hua Hin (over 50, non-O). Last year, I left my place in Hua Hin and have been living exclusively in Bangkok. Did the Bangkok TM 30 once I moved for good, but did not file a change of address TM-27 (cue foreboding music).

Today I tried to get a new extension. Had every bit of paperwork I thought was necessary, but got caught out on not having done the address change and asked why I wasn't going to the Hua Hin office for my extension. Explained I hadn't been living there for almost a year and showed them my Bangkok rental contract and TM 30.

They asked for my last rental contract and TM 30 for my place in Hua Hin (which miraculously I had with me).

All ended up with them asking me to write a letter to the supervisor explaining my move, apologizing and asking for their consideration. Have to go back next week (with freshly updated bank letter, transaction record and bank book since it'll be beyond the 7 day period of the previous letter) to see if the extension was approved by the supervisor.

Sooo... Chaengwattana definitely appears to need the TM-27 filed if you move provinces.

Probably a dumb question, but this was a thing for my previous visa —

When leaving the country, do we have to do a preemptive re-entry stamp at immigration to preserve the visa? Or since it’s multi-entry already, is such a stamp unnecessary?

Hey guys!

I entered Thailand as a tourist and received a 60 day entry stamp, I’ve used my 30 day extension, my 30 days are up soon. I’ve heard of a border run too extend my stay in Thailand. I have no idea how to go about it, Any advice on where would be the best bet to do so etc? I’m currently in Pattaya.

Hi - having spent the last 14 years travelling between Thailand and New Zealand on 12 month Non O (Thai Spouse) visas I now need to take a different approach as one year is not an option through the E-Visa and the 90 day Non O costs more than 16,000 Baht from the NZ Thai Embassy. As I have the requisite 400K Baht seasoned in my Thai bank account can I arrive on a visa exempt 60 days, apply for a 90 day Non O and then the 12 month extension all within a three to four month period before I have to return to NZ?

This group has been very helpful so I'm giving back my application details:

DTV approved today ( soft power - Discover Thai Nature ) via Los Angeles embassy. USA citizen, Applied on Feb 2, approved Feb 14 ( 10 days ).

I was not asked for any additional documents.

My physical and mailing address are in different states, so my bank statements show a different address than the address I confirmed with my utility bill. I thought it might be an issue, but it was not.

I'm retired and do not work ( mid 40s, so I thought this might raise flags). I selected 'retired' in the application. My bank checking statements do show a stable 'income' every month from investments.

I submitted 6 months of bank statements, the last statement showed more than the required 500,000THB and the 5 before showed close to it. I highlighted the totals at the end of the month in the PDF, and joined them into one PDF. I wanted to make this as simple as possible for the person reviewing it.

In addition, even though I know it's not required I also submitted my investment summary page ( I attached it to the joined PDF of my bank statements on the last page ). On the summary page I highlighted the amount invested that showed I could live a long time on the funds. Again, I didn't think I'd get denied by having this extra statement, and thought it could possibly help. Weather or not it did, i'll never know.

I wear glasses that do not obstruct my face and kept them on the photo that I submitted in the application.

Thought I'd register through my SO to file TM30 online.

Tried for 3rd time over as many months and finally received email approval yesterday..

After getting approval tried to register my Son who arrived on 11th.

The system was unable to accept him.

Confusing website for me even though I have been using computers for decades.

So we went to Khon Kaen Immigration today and physically reported him successfully

We asked the IO if somebody could help us with the website and was told no. The website is out of service.

I had brought my laptop to Immigration.

My question...finally...is this BS or just the IO not wanting to assist?

Thank you..
