Hi - having spent the last 14 years travelling between Thailand and New Zealand on 12 month Non O (Thai Spouse) visas I now need to take a different approach as one year is not an option through the E-Visa and the 90 day Non O costs more than 16,000 Baht from the NZ Thai Embassy. As I have the requisite 400K Baht seasoned in my Thai bank account can I arrive on a visa exempt 60 days, apply for a 90 day Non O and then the 12 month extension all within a three to four month period before I have to return to NZ?

Hello friends. I am in the process of gathering all my documents, but have read different stories everytime, so I'd rather be over prepared. But the following will need some clarity please:

- Document indicating current location. Assuming this means my entry stamp into another country?

- Bank statement. 3 months or just proof of money with 1 statement?

- proof of workcation. I have employment contract for the UK but I also hear that I should have the companies certification and a screenshot of my portfolio? I assume my CV would be good here.

- I've also heard that a TM30 is needed?

- Lastly if they fail my application will I need to pay another 10,000THB to repapply the second time? Please say no 😬

Hi Guys.

My application was accepted last Thursday in Cambodia. Workation. I was worried about being asked for tax returns etc but that never happened. Flew in last Friday and was asked no questions. Stamped in for 6 months.

I have a few questions;

1. I'm considering doing a Bachelor's degree, potentially at a university in Thailand, possibly online with Open University. Would it be possible to do that on a DTV?

2. If I did do the degree here, I'd be working very little (online, with an employer based in another country) and getting support from my Thai partner. Would I still be expected to pay tax on the little that I earn?

3. Am I expected to register where I am staying? It seems a bit pointless, as one of the reasons to get a DTV is to live a semi-nomadic lifestyle, moving from place to place. Who do I report this information to?

Thanks for your help so far....

What steps need to be taken after you have received your DTV and crossed back into Thailand with your DTV stamp?

Can I extend my DTV at immigration in Samut Prakan although my home is in Bangkok?

If no, could I just get a TM30 from a hotel in Samut Prakan and then be ok?

DTV Interview in Taipei – Seeking Advice & Insights

I’ve been asked to come in for an interview as part of my application for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Taipei, and I have to admit, I’m a bit surprised by this request. Given that my situation seems to align perfectly with the DTV’s requirements, I didn’t anticipate needing an interview.

For context, I work for an American company and want to work remotely from Thailand (because I am literally allowed to work anywhere and I have to travel anyways very often to Asia-pacific region for work, of course excluding Thailand). I’ve provided proof of my financial independence, my work contract, and the business license of the company I work for etc.

I’ve never applied for a Thai visa before and have always entered the country under the tourist exemption scheme (30 days, and recently 60 days). Therefore, I can guess maybe they have questions about my frequent entries and exits from Thailand over the past 1.5 years? The honest truth is, my business travel schedule has kept me outside the country most of the time, so I haven’t overstayed or violated any visa regulations. When I am in Chiang Mai, I’ve been living with my boyfriend (who is not Thai national but has an elite visa).

With that in mind, I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience with this interview process in Taipei. I’ve read some posts, but I still woud like to ask:

1. General overview of the interview process: What’s the vibe? Is it more formal or laid-back?

2. How was the overall interview? What questions did they ask for you?

3. TM30 question: Do they ask about TM30 registrations?

I’d really appreciate any guidance or reassurance you can offer. Thank you so much to this community for your help!

I wish to retire to Thailand later this year. From UK, I’ll be depositing 800,000 in Bangkok Bank. My gf says they told her I just need my proof of accommodation (TM30?). Then I wait 2 months with proof of funds before applying for the year extension.

Does this sound like a plan ?

Please be nice. Some of you guys can be big meanies 😂😂😂
