I previously posted about being rejected by Los Angeles after 17 days pending document check because the system had deleted my middle name before submission.
I re-applied and, after about one week, received the following document requests:
"Other request documents: Business portfolio
Other request documents: Please upload a business registration of the company
Other request documents: Your recent tax return
Other request documents: Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely
Other request documents: Employment contract or employment certificate from company"
—"Business portfolio":
It would sure be helpful if they explained what they mean by that. In my original application, I included links to two of my freelance portfolios where they can see dozens of pieces of work from the last couple of years. Should I print out hundreds of pages of work as the portfolio? My main current job is a large project that is not yet finished for them to see.
—"Business Registration":
Again, it would be helpful if they were a bit more explicit. The main foundation I work for has a prominent website. I Googled their "business registration" and all their information since 2001 is available on Propublica.com. I guess I will print that out and submit that?
—"Recent tax return":
That is clear enough. I didn't file this yet this year, but I will do that today.
—"Guarantee letter from the company implies that you work remotely":
This is funny because I am a literary translator and writer, so of course my work is remote, but my contract doesn't explicitly say that because it's obvious. I will request that from my main employer spelling it out.
—"Employment contract or employment certificate from company":
This is the most troubling because I already submitted a very thorough copy of my contract to them. So I am very confused as to why they are asking for it again.
Overall, it doesn't look very promising. At least they didn't ask me for more financial documentation. I will submit these docs and hope for the best, but I'm pretty discouraged by this opaque system with no recourse. If it fails again, I'll try to go through an agent, which is probably much more reliable.
I apply in Hanoi and now they asked me for a document but I'm not sure what this document looks like.
My purpose is freelance, so I provided framework agreements with two agencies I work for.
Now the asked me for a "Business registration of company you're currently working with." Does it mean I have to ask my agencies to give me some document that prove they registered their businesses?
I just recently registered my business and am not going to be operating until later in the year. So I don't have any evidence apart from the business registration. Is that enough evidence of self employment to get the DTV visa?
Besides that, I can meet all other requirements (e.g. 500,000k in the bank).
Guys I have applied in HCM on Sunday 12th January in the workation category, today I have received an email asking for this "1.Other request documents(Provide a company profile that includes details about its history, vision, mission, products, and achievements.)"
What it means? I already sent my portfolio, contract between my LLC and me (I am a solo member/owner of the LLC), any clue?
my 12/15 lax application received a response early morning 1/11 (saturday) which i find strange given the weekend and very early hours; these are processed locally by the embassy and not in thailand (which would also have been saturday night) right?
in any case, they asked for business registration info, last year's taxes, and a business portfolio. not sure what i'll provide for the last as i don't 'publicly make things' - in any case my big question is about the taxes. i'd rather not be out here sharing my tax filings with anyone, is there any way people have used to avoid this but met some kind of income/economic viablility request without sharing tax forms?
I applied through e-visa in Indonesia on 02/01 03:00 after I landed. Approved on Monday 06/01 13:00.
I applied as a freelance writer. Provided them with official business registration from my home country, 2 letters from employers stating I have worked for them and will continue to do so remotely. Also gave them screenshots of my website, social media, resume, and examples of my work.
Current address: An exit stamp of Thailand, entry stamp + visa for Indonesia, hotel booking.
I also gave them 3 months statement of my savings account and my 2022 invoices overview, and a signed contract for some work I'm doing right now.
PS: Jakarta is the worst city I have ever been to in my life (I am well traveled person). I got robbed by three men on a motorbike and got sick due to air pollution. The food is very bad and the city smells and is unhygienic. 2 other people in my hotel got their phones stolen as well. So I run away to Bali after 2 days.
Good luck with your application and thank you all for sharing your tips and tricks.
They require additional documents."Employment certificate must indicate for your remote worker", I already sent them the contract. And my boss didn't want to sign the statement as I'm not going to be an employee when I'm freelancer. What other documentation do I need to provide to verify that I can work remotely? How should I do that? Please recommend me.☹️
