This is maybe a stretch, but I wonder if this is an option. Maybe the group can advise?
I’m a professional musician, performing several international tours per year (never in Thailand). This is my sole income, and my tax is paid in the UK (British citizen).
The time between tours is creative time.
This is time that I would like to spend in Thailand, and thus travel to work occasionally for a tour.
Could I be regarded as a ‘remote worker’, given that the time in Thailand is spent creatively, though the resulting income is made overseas?
Basically, I was wondering, if these professional criteria fulfill the requirements in obtaining a DTV in that regard.
UPDATE: Today, 18 Feb 5.12PM My visa got approved!! Goodluck everyone! As promised I’ll make a detailed video on all the docs I submitted which would help self employed freelancers like me!
Abit worried about my DTV status for softpower, muay thai, applied in HCMC.
Feb 10 5.30pm - submitted
Feb 13 12pm - additional documents requested ( 6 months statement and proof of income) I’m a freelance graphics designer and am worried they think im sus for applying via softpower, but i did provide proof of income with invoices attached and my portfolio, indicating i want to learn muay thai during my free time whilst working my job.
Feb 13 11pm - submitted additional documents requested
Feb 18 today - still pending document check…
Is this normal for it to take so long? Losing hope… been seeing people get moved to pending approval within like 3 working days…
I apply in Hanoi and now they asked me for a document but I'm not sure what this document looks like.
My purpose is freelance, so I provided framework agreements with two agencies I work for.
Now the asked me for a "Business registration of company you're currently working with." Does it mean I have to ask my agencies to give me some document that prove they registered their businesses?
Hi Folks and Thailand fans. I have a German passport, working as a freelancer. What Visa do i need when working for my german clients online while my stay in Thailand? I want to stay less than 60 days. Thank you for your help 👍🏻
I have been working as a freelancer for twelve years and do not have a work contract with any of my clients. Does this present a problem when applying to get a DTV visa considering their work contract requirements? As a translator of content that is used along with colleagues' written content, the type of work I do also does not lend itself to providing portfolio examples.
My AI bot offered the following alternatives, but I would like human feedback before I go ahead and "throw away $300". Thanks.
I'm a Freelance and I've been living in Thailand since February 2022 with tourist + student visa (so definitely a LOT of stamps on my passport haha)
My last student visa ended on the 14th of December 2024. I'm back in France and plan on applying for a DTV visa to come back to BKK on the 23rd of January
My question: as I was previously on a student visa and not supposed to work in Thailand, how do I explain being a freelance and showing them my company registration/invoices for the last couple of months when applying for the DTV visa? 🫠🫠
Not sure if it's a legitimate question or if my overthinking brain is doing its magic again so I figured I'd ask!
Hello, a big thanks to all the members of that group for the help provided !
So in my case, i am a freelance remote worker and as a freelancer, i don't have any contract from my employers to show (and i'm just working for one or two clients max for now) and i don't necessarily work for them every month (last year i worked for them 7 months in a roll then 5 months pause).
This year, well, i don't know, i will see how it goes, there is no certainty, it can stop from a day to another or i can also be working all year...
And i don't send an invoice each month, rather a note of copyrights (as a writer/adaptador) to the client who pays me 45 days after but each note is dated monthly, like a bill or a paycheck....
I have the amount (500K) they ask for on a bank account.
All that being said and thank you to those who read me until the end, do you think i can be eligible for the DTV, and if yes, how should i do it ?
