I am planning to apply the DTV visa as a freelancer in February. I'm from Myanmar, and currently, currently I'm holding an ED Visa. Either in Hanoi or Myanmar, I intend to apply for the DTV visa. Could I ask you some questions?
1. As my clients are based in Myanmar, my fees are in MMK. I use a reliable unofficial money exchanger (known as Hundi in Myanmar) to convert MMK to THB. Will my 500,000 Thai Baht be recognised as formal evidence of funds?
2. My clients are small business owners and film production companies. They don’t use letterheads for payslips; they simply transfer payments through mobile banking. Is it enough by providing screenshots of the bank transfers and bank statements from Myanmar? Or if not, how can prepare official payslips in this case?
3. In your opinion, which country is the best option for freelancers to apply for the DTV visa?
All of your advice would be helpful a lot for this process.
Hey guys, I’m applying through London embassy online. Just got the email for further documents, I wanted a bit of advice on this so I make sure I get it right-
So firstly they basically want a cover letter explaining my freelance work & making sure it doesn’t infringe on local laws regarding working in Thailand
&
Secondly, I run an online store selling clothes from the uk, so should I write a description of that and link my social pages & website to them?
Any help or advice would be great.
Thank you!
(For ppl who are applying from uk, for ref I applied on the 5th and received this email on the 8th)
I applied through e-visa in Indonesia on 02/01 03:00 after I landed. Approved on Monday 06/01 13:00.
I applied as a freelance writer. Provided them with official business registration from my home country, 2 letters from employers stating I have worked for them and will continue to do so remotely. Also gave them screenshots of my website, social media, resume, and examples of my work.
Current address: An exit stamp of Thailand, entry stamp + visa for Indonesia, hotel booking.
I also gave them 3 months statement of my savings account and my 2022 invoices overview, and a signed contract for some work I'm doing right now.
PS: Jakarta is the worst city I have ever been to in my life (I am well traveled person). I got robbed by three men on a motorbike and got sick due to air pollution. The food is very bad and the city smells and is unhygienic. 2 other people in my hotel got their phones stolen as well. So I run away to Bali after 2 days.
Good luck with your application and thank you all for sharing your tips and tricks.
After approval of the DTV, over the 5 year duration of the visa, am I required to provide proof of employment/financial statements to show proof of income? Or is that a one-time deal?
I'm a US citizen. Applied through Washington office under freelance category.
I have just been asked to supply proof of paid invoices from clients as a contract freelancer (which were within the 6 month bank statement I provided) Having now submitted them I am wondering what the turn around time is for the visa to be accepted? I submitted initial application Tuesday 11am and receive this request at 4pm today. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
