No we don't have to register as an individual business. An independent contractor or freelancer gets different types of tax forms and you just file as an individual person.
My primary employer is a non-profit organization. I have a contract with them, but as an independent contractor. I'm not really considered full-time staff for them, but their business is to hire people like me for big projects. Since the contract is ongoing, I don't have a 1099 tax form from them yet, but will get that from them this year.
. Pretty sure it was by hand. The second time I did it, I noticed that the background on two name boxes was dark and the background on one of them was lighter. After refreshing and checking it a few times, finally all the backgrounds to the name boxes were darker. That seems to be some kind of mysterious detail to pay attention to.
I have to return in 15 days for the stamp. On the form, I put "unable to travel be ause of covid" for the reason. I asked her what I could write for how many days and she told me to put 30 days. I didn't try to discuss it with her further.
