Here is a report on Vientiane Visa using the new E-Visa System.
I applied for NON-O as a parent.
Got into Vientiane 9pm Sunday Night and was logged into the Thai Visa system to prepare the application. The system is very smooth and very easy to navigate.
Booked on sunday night and printed off the visa payment document from the dashboard and took that next morning between 9-12 to Thai Consulate in rue bourachine Vientiane.
Paid $2000 bht and then within 20 minutes two images were requested:
A new image of the Birth Certificate.
A new image of the Mothers Identity.
By Wednesday 9.30am I had the Visa and by 4pm I was back home.
the interesting part is normally they would have requested many other multiple of documents based on the individual circumstances, it appears their new system has a lot of history tracking as they had no queries whatsoever other than a request for a clearer image.
Has anyone recently got a thai visa from thai consulate vientiane and how long did they have to stay in Vientiane hotel while waiting for confirmation by email
Got DTV approved in Vientiane through the new evisa system. Submitted documents online on Jan 14 and had interview appointment at the consulate on Jan 17. Visa was approved right after. Thai consulate in Vientiane really seems to look into the bank statement. Had to open up the bank app on phone for the consular to check transactions against the uploaded bank statement. Not many questions otherwise. Total processing time 4 days (although I don’t think the interviews are held every day).
Any new DTV reports from Taipei after the new e-visa system ? Im going to apply for DTV based on workcation soon and Im deciding between Jakarta, Hanoi or Taipei.
I have a flight to Thailand on 01/21 and I heard that all Visa's starting in 2025 will have to be processed through the E-Visa system.
I am planning on extending my Visa on arrival and apply for a non immigrant O visa. Will I need to now change my plan and apply through the E-Visa system? I had already purchased my ticket in Nov 2024.
Is it correct that you do not have to apply for the DTV from your country of residence if you apply in one of the bordering SE Asian countries.
Does Sri Lanka count within this bordering country list ...
and if anyone has experience applying for their DTV at the Thai Embassy in Sri Lanka could you kindly share (this being since the new e visa system came into place).
