I’m planning to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) and I wanted to get some advice. I’m a freelancer and teach English online to Italian and Spanish students. The company who sends me the money is based in Spain, I'm from UK. I’ve got one invoice as I've only been working as a freelancer for 1 month but it’s not a huge amount. I’m planning to work more hours when I’m in Thailand, so I’ll be earning more then. I can show proof of over 500,000 THB in my bank account.
Do you think this will be enough to get the DTV, do i have to show the specific number within the payslip or is it just a payslip with my name on. Any tips would be super helpful!
For anyone that applied in Vietnam, Jakarta, or Cambodia, how much time did you budget for the application process? I'm trying to determine whether I should book for 1 week or 2 weeks.
I'm a cryptocurrency trader and liquidated ~700k THB and deposited it into my personal checking account, however I don't receive a consistent paycheck. Ideally I would like to apply at an embassy that accepts 1 month bank statement. Spoke with a law firm in Bangkok (Baan Thai) and they recommended applying in Vietnam. They said Vietnam is fast (5 days) and although they require 6 month bank bank statement, they are only concerned with the final closing balance.
However, I've read posts on here stating that Jakarta accepts 1 month bank statement and is quite fast as well.
Could anyone share their experience or recommendation?
For context, I'm applying under Muay Thai Soft Power through FITFAC. Course is paid in full for 9 months. US citizen.
I succesfully obtained my DTV Visa in Jakarta using Tiger Eye Muay Thai and MMA gym for my soft power application. They were very helpful with providing all the necessary documents needed and open with answering questions!
I applied sunday night, Monday it went to status pending approval and Wednesday it was approved without a request for additional documents. (3 business days processing)
I provided 6 months of tx history even if I read that people got accepted with 1 month history and I put 600K THB equivalant (EUR) on my bank instead of 500K just to be sure. (The majority of the money was transfered to my main account a couple of days to a week before applying because I didn't have it on 1 account)
Important concerns I had before applying:
* Can you have a job outside of thailand while applying with softpower - Answer is yes. I work remotely (not that the TH gov knows) and they approved my application. I chose this route to save myself hassle.
* Can I prefill my application while in thailand and submit it once abroad - Yes.
* Do I need to show the proof of finances on the day of submission - No, I printed the pdf of my statements 2-3 days before submission but the closer towards submission date the better I'd say.
* I used [members only] to translate my bank statements to english. Way better than google translate!
Hi everyone, I’m a bit confused about the 500k baht financial requirement for the DTV.
Do I need to show a bank statement with 500k baht maintained for the past 3 months, or can I use payslips/client invoices to prove I have the equivalent income?
When showing the bank statement for proof of 500k THB, is it alright to have received like 1-5k USD from a family member during this period, or should the income be mainly from the remote job?
Has anyone recently gone for a Soft Power DTV in Jakarta and provided only the current month's bank statement ? i.e. with the 500k in the current month (of applying) and not also provided any historical statements ?
Hi all, just a quick question on bank statement which I didn’t see anyone mention about it. Is electronic statement sufficient or need to get it from the bank with their stamp and sign? (Mine is Bangkok bank). Thnak in advance.
Update: OP had the extension approved. FYI only. Someone's experience trying to get an extension in Chiang Mai. If you want more information go to the original post in the link and ask the original poster.
