ATTENTION Members in Australia and related territories,
The Thai Embassy in Canberra announced the eVisa system installation. Switching on 19th March, same as Sydney.
They will accept applications by the current (or 'old') procedure until 13 March.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Embassy in Canberra has announced the implementation of the eVisa system starting March 19. Applications can still be submitted through the current process until March 13. Comments reveal some users are experiencing issues with account setup and express concern about processing times with the transition to the new system.
Sydney had a cut off of the 9th for application approvals using the "traditional visa system" and you had to get your passport to them by the 12th.
NOW everyone there waits it out until the new system goes live in another week
The system is STILL not live for people in Australia to use yet as you can't select a consulate yet

At least this pop up comes up when you say you're in Oz

Is anyone else having problems setting up account? I kept getting a verification email sent , I click on that link and it just keeps repeating and sends a new link email

The system doesn't go live until the 19th officially, so while you can get IN you can't apply for anything on it by selecting either consulate in Oz (sydney / canberra)
strange that you can't set up an account though, I mean that eVisa system is used by 30 consulates world wide I believe and you should be able to set up an account at the very least
