Got DTV approved in Vientiane through the new evisa system. Submitted documents online on Jan 14 and had interview appointment at the consulate on Jan 17. Visa was approved right after. Thai consulate in Vientiane really seems to look into the bank statement. Had to open up the bank app on phone for the consular to check transactions against the uploaded bank statement. Not many questions otherwise. Total processing time 4 days (although I don’t think the interviews are held every day).

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience of obtaining a DTV visa at the Thai consulate in Vientiane using the new e-visa system. They submitted their documents online on January 14 and attended an interview on January 17, receiving approval shortly after. They noted that the consulate closely reviews bank statements, requiring the applicant to show their account balance via a mobile banking app during the interview. Total processing time was around 4 days. In the comments, others discussed the payment process at the consulate and clarified requirements for bank statements.

How much money do you need to have 500,000 baht? Can you show bank statements for 6 months?

After submitting documents, you can go pay at the consulate immediately (print out the payment invoice with QR generated from the online system). Then the interview appointment was sent to the email one day later. The consulate only accepted 10,000 baht in cash.

Thanx for the update,

So you submitted the documents online, went to the consulate and paid the 10K baht, THEN they emailed you for the interview?

OR

did they set up the interview when you went to pay?

I know that at both Vientiane AND Savannakhet they make you go pay for the visa at the consulate after you've filed the online application.

That consulate was hit by an agency that had bad paperwork for their customers right when the DTV came out (fake bank paperwork) so they started having people log in and show their balance to check you actually meet the requirement

Seems like a pretty straightforward process, congrats, enjoy your visa (y)
