Is TM30 an absolute requirement for tourist visa 30 day extension?
UPDATE: went to LAK SI Immigration office for the 30 day extension and a TM30 was NOT required.
I did provide my lease agreement in lieu and it was sufficient. However, I too would recommend getting a TM30 just to be safe. Thanks all for your help below!
I am currently applying for the DTV visa from South Korea and have received an additional document request:
"Proof of Accommodation in Thailand: Lease Agreement or Invitation letter to the Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul. (Typed with sponsor’s signature including reason, period, pp no) to certify your stay (Upload Sponsor's PP and ID copy, etc)"
Since this visa cannot be applied for from within Thailand, how is it possible to submit a Lease Agreement? It is unrealistic to sign a rental contract online without even seeing the place.
Has anyone else encountered this request? If so, I would appreciate it if you could share how you resolved this issue.

I am planning to get my first one-year marriage-based Non-O visa extension soon.
I live in Bangkok and I know I need to do it at the Chaeng Wattana immigration office.
I have a few questions, and I would greatly appreciate your help.
1. Regarding the necessary documents from the bank proving that I have a deposit of 400,000 baht in the account for the previous two months, what exactly are these documents and how many are there?
The list of required documents says:
- Letter from the bank certified the account in the bank of not less than 400,000 baht
- A copy of the bank passbook dated as of the application submission date, showing a balance of no less than 400,000 baht.
Can I go to any branch of my bank in Bangkok and ask for this letter? Do I perhaps need to request a separate account statement for the last two months (or more months)?
2. Another thing that interests me is this:
- Copy of House lease agreement (I have this of course), Identification and household registration of the owner.
Since I have copies of these last two documents, signed by the owner of the apartment where I live, is that sufficient because I don't have the original documents with me and the owner does not live in Bangkok?
3. The next thing I'm interested in are these 4 photos that are needed (two in front of the building and two inside the apartment).
What kind of photos are they?
Can I take a picture with my phone and then print it somewhere on photo paper?
4. And the last thing is this:
- Map of an applicant house in Thailand.
What kind of map is that, a printed google map of the area where the building I live is located?
Question: I am trying to get my 3 month non-o (retirement) extended by 12 months. I checked the official Immigration website for necessary documents (see link), but under no 22 they mention neither TM.30 nor that you must present a lease contract. However, I have heard from people that they have been asked for both. So this is very confusing if you cannot even trust Immigration‘s own website. Does anyone know from practical experience what they ACTUALLY want to see when you go to get the extension? Many many thanks - I am getting more confused by the hour…
Preparing for doing 90 day report in person in Hua Hin. This will be my second 90 day report. The first one was handled by the staff at the first hotel I stayed at and I didn't even need to go to the immigration office. For this second one, I have moved to another hotel and plan to stay here for a year. Other residents of this hotel are saying they just bring a copy of their lease agreement with them for 90 day reporting and no TM30 is required. Does this sound legit? I'm having trouble connecting with the hotel owner to get a copy of the TM30 receipt.
I'm currently on my first one year retirement visa. When I go to renew do I have to show a lease agreement? I bought a car and just want to spend next year exploring Thailand so won't have a permanent address.
