Was hoping you’d get more replies.

If you do so would love to hear first hand account.

Like others I’m really curious what happen.

How was it a “hard time”?

What did the letter she sign say?

I’m both a bit shocked and not shocked you got stopped like this.

Seems most get ignored if not living in TH full time. Only 6 months a year I’d figure they wouldn’t say anything about. And at worst would just give a warning vs go straight to detention and (until she signed something) denial of entry.

But not shocked because clearly they are back to being strict and 6 months a year on visa free entries is pretty grey area.

Were you truly out for 6 months or more before you came back in Nov?

Do you have any history of staying more than 6 months at a time or in a year?

This is two questions.

1. A family one

Aka do you believe she would try to cause issues

And

2. A legal one.

If there is no worry about the first especially with the age of the child I would not worry that much about the legal side.

If there is I personally wouldn’t enter Thailand with the child. But if I had to I would talk to Thai lawyers.

Point being that if there is no risk why worry and if there is why even bother with the risk till the child is 18?

@John ****
location of marriage has nothing to do with if a location will allow you to divorce and in general countries recognize the marriages and divorces of each other.

Birth certificates from the U.S. you get from local authorities. Counties and states normally.

They normally have ways to get them mailed.

Do you have someone in the U.S. they could mail it to and then rush ship it to Thailand?

If you truly need the birth certificate that is how you get it.

airline staff can be wrong and in the end they have the authority to block boarding even when wrong.

It happens fairly regularly.

What do you mean by do it yourself?

Is there some free method I am not aware of?
Aaron ******
@Bobby ******
just because something is not required does not mean the airline staff will accept that.

You see stories of issues often enough of like this around the world. Where airline staff requires an onward ticket when none is required.

$15 is cheap insurance to get pass staff who may not properly understand and accept the rules.

You can’t win in a fight with airline staff. So why not just “waste” a few bucks and minutes of your time to have this in case the issue comes up.
Aaron ******
The airline will be the issue if anything.

Just buy a paid reservation for $15. Google “onward ticket” to find the services that provide this.

That way if the airline staff is an issue you are covered.
