it's the same here in taiwan. Employers expect you to open a bank account with the bank they usually deal with, reason why I got 3 different bank accounts. The money is actually in local banks so I never thought that was an issue till I read of a guy who got refused cuz of that (even tho one wasn't a real bank) and I'm here checking out how you folks have dealt with it 🙂 thanks for the reply
each bank account has around 10k (or less) us$ and it's been like that for ages. Taiwanese employers kinda force you to open a bank account with the bank they are familiar with so that they can avoid paying extra fees when they pay your salary...
