I work and live in taipei, due to some reasons (employers) I have 3 bank accounts (under my name) with about 300k thai baht each. Combined they would get around 1 million. I was about to apply for dtv (soft powers) in taipei when I read of a folk who got denied cuz he had a similar situation and it seemed that 500k should be in a single account. Now I can easily move money from an account to the other but then I should wait 3 months before applying for the dtv. Has anyone gotten any issues by showing the proof of 500k on more than a single bank account? (just to clarify, money has been on those for over 3 months but none of those accounts has excedeed 500k)

You do not need to wait 3 months to season 500K THB to apply in Taiwan. The 500k must be in your account on the day of submission. I applied at Taipei with 3 different accounts. As a freelancer in Japan, companies will insist you open an account with a bank of their choosing. They understood the reason for multiple accounts. You could top up one account to 500K a week or so before applying, if you have concerns about multiple accounts.

it's the same here in taiwan. Employers expect you to open a bank account with the bank they usually deal with, reason why I got 3 different bank accounts. The money is actually in local banks so I never thought that was an issue till I read of a guy who got refused cuz of that (even tho one wasn't a real bank) and I'm here checking out how you folks have dealt with it 🙂 thanks for the reply

You will be fine as it is the norm in Taiwan. You can add a note that all employers required a bank account of their choice to be opened.

I actually have those funds in 3 "proper" taiwanese banks. From what I read it seems that it won't be an issue then

I applied in Taipei and had over 500thb in 4 different bank accounts.

They asked me why I had so many bank accounts and I told them I don’t like having all my money into one. The lady chuckled and agreed with me and passed my information to her supervisor. Was approved within 2 hours.

After the huge money laundry case bursted in Singapore, all Asian countries are very strict in Bank account, especially if you have multiple accounts. You are on the suspicious list.

each bank account has around 10k (or less) us$ and it's been like that for ages. Taiwanese employers kinda force you to open a bank account with the bank they are familiar with so that they can avoid paying extra fees when they pay your salary...

if you get questioned, you may suggest that you have multiple bank accounts to avoid getting everything cleared out in cases of scams
