Hi all, so I was planning to get my Non O visa in the UK and fly out next month to Bangkok, the intention was to get the 1 year extension visa on this trip.... given all these issues getting a bank account, is it now going to be impossible ? I didn't intend on using an agent and I was going to try and sort it myself in one of the bank branches...I would be grateful for any advise, as I'm currently stuck in limbo..
Hi everyone! I’m on a Non O (married to Thai) visa with the annual extension ending in June. Unfortunately I’m going through a divorce (common farang/thai situation 😒) and will change to the DTV next month.
QUESTION please: Do I need to cancel my Non O visa before leaving the Thailand to apply for the DTV? Or are there any other steps I need to do please?
I was hoping to have the DTV visa lined up before the divorce is final since I have made Thailand my home and plan to return.
Hello! I’m a Thai National and my husband is applying for the Non O visa. They require an invitation from me inviting him to my mother’s home in Thailand.
Would anyone happen to know how see the processing times of the various embassies and consulate for the DTV please? If there is no website that shows this information, could someone please tell me the three fastest consulates in Southeast Asia for the DTV please? Currently living in Thailand on a Non O Visa with annual extension and need to change to DTV. Thank you! 🙏
I have a Non "O" visa multiple entry got in Vientiane 01.08.24. I obtained this being married to a thai national.
We both have a 9 years old child together (my name on birth certificate).
My thai wife now wishes to divorce and here is the question.
A few years ago here was written that this type of visa is not cancelled after divorce and can be used untill the provided date (July 2025).
Please advise if this term is still valid and I should not notify immigration about marriage cancellation and immediately do a new visa based on kid's care.
Also if someone have an experience in local divorce procedure please share it with me in private message as I have no idea how its going on...
Hopefully I can get some guidance here and this is not a repeat question ... I have searched but ......
I am on a Non O retirement visa using a bank deposit ... vs a pension.
Can I change banks if at all times I maintain the minimum THB400,000 deposit in the post 3 month period of my visa extension. ... as in I initially have two accounts with THB400,000 plus in them and then drain the old to fill the new.
So at my next renewal I will have statements from two different banks covering the 12 month period but collectively meeting all balance requirements.
Logically that seems ok to me but I know the system has its own intricacies!
My wife, a Filipina, intends to apply for a Non O Visa early next year in Manila to enable her to stay in Thailand as a dependent on my retirement Visa.
The question is when does the clock start ticking; is it the day she gets the stamp in Manila or from the time she enters Thailand? The problem is she will be going to Australia direct from Manila for 2 months.
If it is from the date it is stamped in Manila she will only have one months validity once she gets to Thailand. Is that a problem; does it matter?
Just as a matter of interest we made inquiries with the embassies in Laos, Vietnam and Malaysia none of whom were able to process a Non O Visa (obtaining this information by the way was not easy. It took a lot of effort and many emails to find out the answer was NO. We even tried Australia and received two nonsensical answers before they stopped replying at all).
As an aside to this I am curious as to why it has to be applied for outside of Thailand anyway.
