Is it possible to use training and studying in a government approved Thai massage school in Chiang Mai as your reason for applying for a DTV? If so, then what documentation for the program do I need to provide? Thanks in advance!
My wife and I enrolled in a language school in Chiang Mai, the school applied to the Ministry of Education for us and our documents arrived 45 days later. Now they will apply to the immigration office for an education visa and our visas will be issued in 21 days, but we have a 4-year-old daughter and we will apply for a dependent visa for her, the immigration office said that they will give our daughter a dependent visa during the first extension (i.e. during the first 90-day report after receiving the education visas). The school says that after my wife and I receive our visas, we have to go abroad and come back again for our daughter, there must be a mistake here, can't the 4-year-old child apply at the same time as us and get a dependent visa? Since she cannot act independently of us, how will she go abroad and come back? If If we wait for our first visa extension, this time our daughter will have to stay in the country illegally. In this case (if she remains illegal), they say she will not be able to get a dependent visa. Please help.
Asking about the education visa, (not sure if that's the correct name), but to learn in Thai language school. My daughter is getting this next week. She's paid for the school and the visa, they now want to take her passport off her to get the visa. Is that normal? I said she should go and collect it herself?
Also, second question, when she has to report every 90 days does she still have to pay more?
Hi everyone, I’m have a hard time tracking down information on visa’s and my situation. I am disabled and I am from the USA. I would like to stay in Thailand possibly permanently but as of right now I’m either looking at an education visa or the DTV. The immigration office I went to wasn’t much help. I think the language barrier was a bit of a problem for us.
Any how I’m a bit concerned with take the education route because I have various learning disabilities and I’m concerned I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the learning. So I started looking in to DTV seeing I have a non taxable income. However it looks as though you have to be a content creator or have some type of job. I am an artist but I don’t really sell my art.
Is the DTV right for me even though I have an income but not working? I’m technically retired but I don’t fit the requirements for the retirement visa based solely on age. I’m 3 years short. Can anyone offer any guidance on this? Thank you in advance 😊🙏
Is anyone on an education visa and has left the country and come back in ?
I'm curious to what the thai test is that that they do at immigration.
I have been paying a private tutor to help me learn thai for the last 5 mo ths because I wasn't learning in class, but I do struggle to learn ap I'm not good and I'm abit worried 😅
Any one have recommendations for what to say if asked about previous work while in Thailand. I’ve been on an education visa learning Thai but my business I’ve still been running which is located in the USA. Will they question this or ask how I’ve maintained the business while in the country for the past year?
Hi all. I’m considering going to culinary school in Thailand but would like my mum (60+) to come along with me, what type of visa would she need to stay??
