HCMC consulate~

Applied for soft power through Muay Thai and as unemployed, They are now requesting additional documents for proof of monthly income. The 6 months of bank statements I had already supply show proof of capital to support any one well beyond 5 years. Any one else come across this and have advise?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The HCMC consulate has been requesting additional documentation for individuals applying for a soft power visa, specifically proof of monthly income, even if bank statements show substantial capital. It appears that even with sufficient funds in the bank, the consulate seeks assurance that applicants can sustain themselves independently in Thailand. Discussions indicate that applicants should clarify their financial situation, ensuring they demonstrate more than the minimum required savings while providing proof of their ability to cover living expenses.

HCMC consulate is known for asking this. Look at the other posts over the past few weeks. Did you say on your application that you were employed in any way?

You said proof of capital

Is this cash balance to investments? They seem to only count cash like a checking account.

it is a cash savings account

They most likely want you to show how you can live inside Thailand not counting the 500k baht required for the visa

Yes, more embassies are now requesting additional documents related to your work or means of living when applying for a soft power visa. Having money in an account doesn’t always seem to be enough, as there are too many scammers exploiting exemptions and this type of visa. The government wants to ensure that you can sustain yourself and have a legitimate means of doing so.

yes this was submitted initially as required. Much more than needed for 5 years.

It will be the same as any other Visa. If you are not employed, you need to show you have savings or some way of sustaining your lifestyle in Thailand.
