What documents are required when applying for a Muay Thai DTV visa in Ho Chi Minh City?

I've applied for a soft power Muay Thai DTV with all the correct documents at Ho Chi Min. I've just received a document request for:

Other request documents: Please provide pay slips for the past six months that show detail the amount of tax deducted from your salary[...]

Other request documents: Provide company registration in ENGLISH version.

Seems they think I'm applying for a digital nomad DTV.

Any ideas? Contact the embassy in HCMC?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat applied for a soft power Muay Thai DTV in Ho Chi Minh City and received a request for additional documentation, including pay slips and company registration in English. Community responses highlighted that the embassy is tightening requirements due to issues with scammers, with many applicants facing similar requests for proof of income or financial stability. Concerns about navigating the bureaucracy and providing adequate documentation were discussed.

Vietnam naturally makes people exhausted

“Company registration”. They might be asking for the details of the muay thai gym you are signing up for to make sure its legit .

They are tightening . And it’s normal : too many scammers entered Thailand with DTV and now are currently running call centers scams all over Thailand. Read the news . Now DTV means suspicion of scams.

Theyre trying to keep out the bums and ones who rely on mommy and daddy's money it's great

They want more detail. They specifically asked you for tax information.

You will need to give it to them if you want the visa approved

Most embassies now asking for income and banked money due to many call centre scammers, criminals having used DTV visas to enter Thailand

Thanks for the replies. I ticked unemployed, but they asked for proof of monthly income. I do actually have this, just not through employment, and I showed them proof. I just don't have what they've requested, though I've already proved I have the 500k plus monthly income and can adequately support myself. Just bureaucratic nonsense that's impossible to navigate.

Sam Trousdale just show them all you got or write a pdf. I wrote a pdf there I reminded them that I had more than the 500k + I sent a pdf from when I sold my business in Thailand when they asked for it. Got my Visa today. Muay Thai soft power.

Sam Trousdale if you have income you will pay tax on it somewhere. Do you have a tax return showing that?

Sam Trousdale so what is your option now?

This week numerous posts have mentioned hcmc is asking for income proof when applying for soft power. It seems they're getting more difficult

I'm planning to apply for the dtv in may at the embassy in the netherland. I don't have a job but i do have savings. Ik hope this will not be a problem. You are the second post i read today with the same question 🫤

Do not pay attention to reports from any other Embassy, than the one you apply at, and read that Embassy website very thoroughly, because it varies from Embassy to Embassy what requirements they have.

Not applying in the neighboring countrys to Thailand, as all those who hava been milking the Thai Immigration system, could be a big advantage.

Applying in the country where you actualy is residing, and have had a permanant adress for a long time, would made your chances for a succesful DTV application much bigger.

@Henrik ****
okay good to know.

@Yasmin **********
You will be ok, embassies now want to know SP applicants are financially independent via employment or savings.
Yasmin ***********
@Andi **********
yes but I will also apply for the soft power one
Andi ***********
@Yasmin **********
So you just show your savings as you not working..
Yasmin ***********
@Andi **********
I understand but I think the starter of this question did to and still had to show an income
Andi ***********
@Yasmin **********
people have got the DTV with no income from employment. They want to know you can live in Thailand, so showing your savings is the way. It is ok not to have a job.

@Yasmin **********
if you can not prove any income, it may be better to show something more than 500k baht saving...
Yasmin ***********
@Michael ******
will show them everything I own 😅

@Yasmin **********
Just do that. I had the same issue. But even I have no job bc I sold my business in Thailand. They approved it today. I explained why dough.

When did you submit your application? Yes it seems like HCMC is starting to ask for proof of income for both SP and Workation. I didn't upload any proof of income but I haven't heard from the embassy either though ..

EDIT: just received rejection without request for futher documentation.

@Mun ****
sorry to hear that. Did they say why

Anonymous participant 738 no it's just the automated email system message.

No, they just want to see you can survive in Thailand for 5 years and have some legit work. A lot of reports recently if you search the forum.
Marcus ********
If you put employed provide information regarding your income as it seems there now wanting proof of income to show you have funds to stay in Thailand not just the 500k, if you ticked unemployment provide proof of funds you will be living on during your time in Thailand

I also provided proof of monthly income, though not through employment.

If you have merged several documents into 1 pdf, then make a index on the front page.

Sam Trousdale send it again mate I think there flickering though these applications so quickly not looking into detail what you sent until it's sent separately, my friend had same issue in Cambodia and needed to basically shove it in there face to read it, good luck hopefully approved soon
