My understanding is at no stage should you be paying Thai tax on wages when using the DTV visa

. Please note I am not an expert and only submitted one application for this myself. I also have many questions only need answering.

I don’t plan on becoming a tax resident Marb. I will be doing a border run to Cambodia after 6 months 180 days. I believe this eliminate the requirement for a Thai bank balance and to show proof of income again.

, I am doing the same as a registered business owner in Australia. I prepared a letter stating that my role within the company was eligible for remote work.

Do you need to have 500,000 baht in your account three months before applying for the DTV visa?

Richard ******

I had 500,000 Baht in the account a matter of hours when I sent my application in. This was in Australia back in December. It was accepted following a request for some additional documents not related to the bank balance.

The 500k does not have to be in your account for any particular time period.

the DTV Visa can be a same day out of Thailand, visa 180 day renewal and re entry into Thailand.

How long do you need to leave Thailand before returning to get a fresh visa stamp after your 180 days are up?

Does it have to be an overnight stay

I have been told you can bus it (from Pattaya) to Cambodia early AM, cross to get visa renewed and back to Pattaya in the bus that afternoon.

How early should I start my DTV visa application for moving to Thailand in July?

The DTV Visa is activated upon acceptance by the consulate you apply through. Given the period of time for processing being on average 6 to 8 days I would be doing the application about 2-3 weeks prior to your requirement for it as to not waste a month or two of the Visa period.
