TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for having 500,000 baht in your account prior to applying for the DTV visa depends on the consulate or embassy you are using. Some consulates may require this amount to be held for a period of three months, while others may not have such a strict requirement. It's essential to consult the specific consulate's website for detailed information regarding their regulations.
Depends of the consulate/embassy- put mine like a month before applying but i submitted only 1 week bank statement without expenses π

Does anyone know if they have accepted investment accounts for the 500,000 baht? NY Consulate in USA

The money have to be readily avaiable, som you can pay expenses right away, with no timedelay, i.e. if you have to go to hospital, you should be able to pay before you get treatment.
That excludes most investmentaccounts.

I had 500,000 Baht in the account a matter of hours when I sent my application in. This was in Australia back in December. It was accepted following a request for some additional documents not related to the bank balance.
