Incorrect. The TM6 used to be filled out by everyone, including Thai nationals, until 2017. Then Thais were exempted and beginning in 2022, all foreign nationals entering by air. Finally, in 2024, major land border checkpoints temporarily exempted all persons from filling one out until the end of April this year.

Correct, that's what I understand too. Some foreigners believe they will be exempt. Was talking to this private pilot (a westerner, probably Australian or British but based in Singapore) with an incredible sense of entitlement, who is adamant he won't need one as a "crew" member as he puts it, yet he is not even an airline pilot but simply a private pilot piloting Cessnas into Hat Yai Airport.

While we can't say for sure, unless he remains airside then I'd say he will be subjected to it as well.

The news clearly states all foreigners, though I suspect there may be a few exemptions, those being border pass holders from neighboring countries and transit passengers but that's probably about it.

I'm not sure why farang believe they're going to get answers from officialdom for something announced by the government that may or may not take place on X date, months from now.

There was a news release about this, but until it actually happens, no one will be able to answer any questions about it.

If it does get implemented on May 1, expect some instructions on what website to access and how to fill out the form, maybe 15 days before it goes live, not anytime soon.

An interview is unlikely. However, it's still best to stay put, in case they ask for more documents (which you would submit online).

You should contact a travel agency in Vietnam. They could always help in the past. See what they say.

Did you apply or did your boyfriend/husband? You're clearly Thai, thus no need for a visa.

2. No. 3. Up to you. You can apply for one online, at the border or in person at the embassy in Bangkok or consulate in Khon Kaen. Not many people who aren't traveling to a remote border (where visa on arrival facilities aren't available) and who don't have a car would apply for a visa in advance, though it is an option.

For entry via the Friendship Bridge, there's little point in doing so. However, an e-visa can help you save time at the border and space in your passport.

You have 3 weeks to go before entering Vietnam; that's not tight at all. The visa is the only thing you need to secure at least 3 business days before entering the country, unless you get an emergency 24 hour processing visa-on-arrival.
