Hello guys, I’m French and I want to apply in Vietnam HCMC. Stupid question I guess, but they don’t ask accomadation in Vietnam ? Home address, is my address in France alright ?
And for accomadation in Thailand, which one do I have to chose for condo ? Can I put hotel ?
Has anyone done this in Hanoi / Ho Chi Minh and was successful in the application?
Accommodation:
Did you put where you stayed in Vietnam for the first address and your home country address after? (Was told you can’t use a Thai address?)
- can you stay in a HOSTEL? Or does it need to be an air b&b or hotel room via booking or Agoda?
- for Vietnam address: - what info do you need to provide besides:
- the booking confirmation for the 2 weeks you stay in Vietnam, receipt of payment (can that be what you paid online shown on your confirmation page?), pic of entry stamp, pic of you in front of your accommodation?
Employment details:
- everyone seems to say issues if you don’t say unemployed.
- if some money has come into your bank statement only for one month (Nov-Dec statement) via PayPal; can I still say unemployed /no salary since the rest of the 6m including the most recent statement shows basically nothing?
(And yes, I have enough in my account for the 500,000 and ok on that front.)
I have successfully extended my DTV stay for another six months at the Samut Prakan Immigration Office today. The staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the process. Since I couldn’t find clear documentation requirements online, I sought advice directly from the receptionists (who, I must say, were very beautiful, kind and welcoming). Interestingly, they mentioned I was the first person to visit their office specifically for a DTV stay extension.
As a remote worker, my work contract was an *essential* document for the application. Additionally, I needed to submit financial proof, including:
* An updated bank book (passbook) on the same day of the visa extension
* A balance certification signed by the bank
* A bank statement showing the same balance as the certification
Accommodation documents were also required, such as:
* A copy of my rental agreement
* A TM30 form
Initially, I had prepared a bank statement generated two days prior to my visit. However, this didn’t meet the requirements because the passbook needed to be updated on the same day as the visa extension. One thing to note is that although I had updated my passbook the night before my visit, the officer required it to be updated again on the day of the extension, even if no new transactions had occurred. The receptionist kindly explained this detail during my initial inquiry, but I decided to give it a try with what I had. As a result, I had to make an extra trip to the bank’s ATM to update my passbook. Thankfully, everything else was in order. This requirement could be different if you are using a foreign bank as financial proof. In such cases, they might adjust the requirements slightly, or you may have no choice but to fly out and come back or do a border bounce.
I’m sharing this experience and the document requirements for anyone considering a DTV stay extension. Being well-prepared can save time and effort, and the staff at the immigration office are there to help. Overall, it was a smooth process once all the documentation was in place.
Hi guys, if I enter on a visa exempt since it’s 60 days now and no point applying for a single enter tourist visa, do I have to show accomodation for my whole trip to the IO? if I book for a few days or a week, is that okay or would they question why i havent only got accomodation booked for my whole stay? Thanks
Hello. Im requesting a DTV visa and i have to submit the adress of my accomodation. I have rented a condo but that condo is about 1h from the gym im applying. Can i submit my condo adress? Would that be a problem or do i have to book an hotel close to the gym to request the visa?
If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it

Staff was quite nice during the interview, they sure ask for a lot of documents compared to other places, but if you have all your cards in order you will get it, if you try to cut corners because you don't have all the requirements, well, you will have issues.
