What health insurance options are popular among expats in Thailand and what are the costs?

Allianz global health (except usa). Yearly 3160 usd. 2.5 million usd coverage but 2k usd deductible.

Lots of small print and two-year moratorium etc.

I would check into whether they actually pay claims. Some insurance companies are great about taking money with no intention to pay large claims

maybe it depends on province. I left Thailand Feb 2024 and did my online May 2024 with no issues. Krabi province.

What are the current requirements for first-time 90-day notifications at Thai immigration as of May 2024?

I was told all reports could be done online but when I tried my first report online, it was rejected in Feb. Instead of going in person, I hopped over to sg for a weekend to visit friends. In May I was able to do my report online. Krabi province.

Is a retirement visa the only option for living in Thailand for a year?

I came to Thailand on 6 month metv and then sorted out my nonO 3 month retirement visa and then 1 year extension. I tried to do non OA before coming here but I was a resident of Oman at that time and it was not meant to be. Hehe

Luckily, I got everything sorted quickly so I did not have to extend the metv.
