When i arrive at DMK next week and get a 60 day VOA and extend another 30. Can I do a border run say to Laos by land crossing, stay a few weeks for sightseeing then return to Thailand and get another 60 days VOA and extend another 30 days.
Fly to Bali and back to Thailand and get another 60 days plus 30 or is that pushing it?
My boyfriend and me are thinking about living in Thailand for about 2-3 years. He got a really good job offer that could support us both financially but his employer would be in Malysia but we want to live in Thailand. So the first question is about his visa possibilities which kind of visa could apply here or if there is any visa that he meets the requirements in this situation.
Then the probably even more difficult question is that I am a student but I study completely remote and although I plan to do some internship or maybe also work later the baseline would be if I don’t find anything in this time that I have no job and would just „live“ there. I heard about the non immigrant visa and that you can do visa runs every 3 months that wouldn’t be any kind of problem because I will accompany my boyfriend to some of his work travels anyway and therefore leave the country from time to time. But then I also read stuff like that you can do this maximum to a period up to one year or it is even possible that they deny you the entry when they see that you re entry the country for the third time or something with just short interruption.
Then I also heard of the educational visa that I thought could be a solution but I also read here similar stuff like you can only prolong it up to one year or when you leave the country you first have to apply for a re-entry allowance so you can come back which also wouldn’t work because I will leave Thailand during the year for some time as mentioned above.
As you can see I am lost and my Google Research is just not answering my questions.
I appreciate any kind of information or experience. Thank you!! 🙏🏻 😊
I have been traveling to Thailand for over 30 years, but now I'm retiring and want to spend up to 6 months of the year in Thailand 🇹🇭 and 6 months in the UK 🇬🇧
What is the best option of visa for me please, because there are some new visas available now.
Hello. I’m almost 59. I’d like to test retirement in Thailand. The only way is to commit to 1 year and then make a decision. Is a retirement visa the only way to live in Thailand for a year?
Hey there ! My partner and I are moving to Thailand from the US. It’s looking like the move might be end of summer 2025. I’ve been looking into visas trying to figure out which one would be best for us and could use some direction. I’m seeing work visas and 90 day visas that would require extentions and make me hesitant to sign a year lease. We plan on spending 1-2 years there split between Chiang Mai and Phuket. We will continue with our current US based jobs and work remotely in Thailand. Curious about which visa would be the best option and how far out we should start preparing our visas. Any info helps! Thanks in advance 🫶🏻
Hi everyone! I am new in visa applications process in Thailand, thus I would like to ask you a question: how many times it is possible to make a tourist visa, before being denied entry? For example, would it be possible to stay in the country for 1 year with 4 or 5 consecutive tourist visas? I have heard there is no rule and it depends on the circumstances, but I would like to know your experiences. Thank you!
Hello, I’m 36yo, French, currently living in Spain.
I went to Thailand for the first time in January on an exemption visa for 30 days.
I’d like to go back to Thailand in October and if possible stay for 6 months.
I am a bit confused as to what would be my best option here :
- I have another 30 days of visa exemption, should I simply go with that, then request a 60 days tourist visa after that + an extension of 30 days ? That would make 4 months, but then the visa exemption would renew for 2025 ? (Pretty sure this option is not correct 😂)
- or ask for a Student Visa (Learning Thai online with a local school) ? That would allow me 60 days + 30 days extension and that student can then be renewed for 60 days again and another extension ?
