For those that don't understand, this means if you go apply for an extension on Monday OR on the 26th, your extension will start on the 27th of September so there is no reasons to wait until the last minute.
This announcement by the Immigration Office (in thai :/ ) states that extensions for visas of ALL kinds will be effective starting on the 27th of Sept (the day after this amnesty ends).
It also say you can go apply from now until the 26th and your extension will be dated from the 27th.
SO if you're getting grief from your office stating that "your extension isn't covered" or some other lame, knee jerk b/s excuse, show them this print out. It might not work BUT it should :)
Advance apologies if this has been answered already, but I searched and couldn’t find an answer. I’m a teacher who switched schools this school year, so I’m currently on the amnesty program. My school is still processing my paperwork and waiting to receive word on the possibility of teachers being able to get their Non-B without leaving the country. My question is regarding the 90 day report. Since I’m currently on the amnesty program, do I need to do a 90 day report before August 31st?
Hope you all good and well...American passport holder...have non o multiple entry based on marriage to a Thai....last border run March 2020...got me to June 2020...did 60 day extension...got me to August 14...now on amensty...my visa expires Sept 1 2020....had to send my passport back to the states....only had 1 page left...if I get my passport after the 1st of September and go apply for the extension of stay....with the 400,000 baht seasoned in a Thai bank...and I have all documents... I can apply...right...even though my visa expired...
My Multi Entry Non-O based on marriage expires August 15th. I am currently on the amnesty because I my last bounce was due in May and I was unable to do that. I am considering moving myself onto the 1 yr extension (have funds) but I am trying to work out the best possible time to do this. Would I need to do it before the visa expires? Which if thats the case I have left it to late to season the cash.
I was hoping with the potential for immigration to be giving the grace period until Sept, that I would look at doing the extension then, but the visa sticker will then be expired, is it still possible?
Hello fellow Expats and others. I came into Thailand Mar 3rd. After 28 days I got a 2 month extension as I am married. I went back to Immigration end of May to get my retirement Visa. Everything was perfect, proof of residence, marriage certificate, money in the bank for 5 months. They said everything was great but I would need a 0- Visa. I know there is a Amnesty until the end of July. Do I have to leave the country for this or can I do it in Thailand. If I have to leave the problem might be getting back. We are expecting our first child June 26th. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I’m a US citizen was married to a Thai divorced Dec 2018, have two kids with ex-wife. I am working for a Japanese company and traveled monthly so was on visa exemption. Still here on visa exemption. I got married just before covid. Was planning a trip to savannakhet to apply for marriage visa then borders closed. Planning on the trip when borders reopen but if still have restrictions in place after opening I’m afraid I’ll be in limbo. My hometown is Minneapolis which is on fire now and I have no home there for decades. Getting worried this special case will slip through the cracks...
