My Multi Entry Non-O based on marriage expires August 15th. I am currently on the amnesty because I my last bounce was due in May and I was unable to do that. I am considering moving myself onto the 1 yr extension (have funds) but I am trying to work out the best possible time to do this. Would I need to do it before the visa expires? Which if thats the case I have left it to late to season the cash.

I was hoping with the potential for immigration to be giving the grace period until Sept, that I would look at doing the extension then, but the visa sticker will then be expired, is it still possible?

Okay, whether your VISA <- the sticker in your passport from a thai consulate is expired or not has NOTHING to do with whether you can get a yearly extension (or a 60 day visit thai family extension) based on marriage :O

The visa is something that lets you ASK to get in to the country and if they let you in it's for the number of days the visa allows, in your case 90 days. It's the 90 day entry stamp that lets you stay IN thailand. AND seeing as that 90 day entry stamp already expired it's actually the amnesty program that is letting you stay here.

As long as you meet the requirements you can apply for a yearly extension of stay from amnesty without any issues.

Now whether I'd push my luck and think they're gonna hand another 2 months free amnesty to people even though the amnesty has ran since march 26th, who knows.

You're out nothing by waiting until Tuesday after the cabinet meeting and see what they announce they're going to do.

Nobody knows what will happen after 31 July, so as i said, your choice. At the end of your long stay inside Thailand you saved 2 x 158 Thb = 316 Thb, if you push for these 2 months for free

Not so much the cost saving more the extra time, I guess as you say just putting off the inevitable. May as well get it sorted sooner.

Yeah if I do it now, I lose the potential of an extra 2 mths until Sept, just not clear if I can do it in Sept with the offical visa in my passport expired

Extension of Stay cost 1.900 Thb and you get 1 year of stay.

a few days extra or not is the question. I would say apply and get it done, or wait for last minute option.
