Greetings. Right now I have got a non-b visa and a work permit, both are going to expire in August. If i go to the Immigration to cancel my work permit, am i going to get the amnesty until 26th of September? In this case what documents do i need to show? Thank you in advance.

First you cancel your Work Permit with the date of last day working, with the documents of cancelled work permit you visit the Immigration Office and cancel your Extension of Stay based on working and that will be on the same date.

In normal circumstances you need to apply for a new Extension of Stay or leave the country. At the moment if you do not meet any requirements you can use this amnesty until 31 July and wait for the new announcement about extension or how to get a new valid stay.

Thank you, now i understand, so basically there are 2 options in my case:

1. If the amnesty won't be extended to 26th September and stays at 31th July, i go to immigration on 10th August to cancel my work permit, so i HAVE to leave the country before 17th August

2. They will officially announce to extend the amnesty to 26th of September, so i go to immigration on 10th August and cancel my work permit, but i can stay until 26th of September due to the extended amnesty.

Am i right now?

Almost, you cancel your Work Permit at the Ministry of Labor, after that you visit the Immigration Office to cancel your Extension of Stay, the big stamp in your passport.

Normally you apply for a new Extension of Stay, you know yourself the best and know if you can meet requirements for a new extension to stay inside Thailand.

am sorry, i dont really understand, if i stop working on the first week of August and i cancel my work permit around 10th of August, do i have to leave the country the next day? Its still not 100% clear, what requirements do you mean exactly for the extension.

There is talk about extending the amnesty to sometime late September, however that has not been formally enacted into law. Because of this, the mods and admins of this group currently assumes the amnesty will end on July 31, 2020, and our advice reflect that.

When you cancel an extension of stay, you have up to 11:59PM *THE SAME DAY* to leave Thailand, assuming there is no amnesty. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for another extension of stay, which will be denied, and you will have 7 additional days to leave (assuming, of course, there is no amnesty).

in normal circumstances you should leave the country when your non b becomes void (no work permit) you need to fulfill the requirements fir a new extension based on what you choose, like married to Thai wife or over 50 years (so called retirement), the requirements are on the Thai Immigration website

I try again:

If you stop working and cancel the Work Permit dated 10 Aug then you have to cancel the big stamp in your passport with the text Extension of Stay permitted up to ../../.. and change that date into 10 Aug
