This is gonna be a difficult question, and the likely reply will be 'go talk to them', which I intend to do; will ask anyway for some ideas or insight.
So, there's myself, passport of Ukraine, entered 2 years ago visa exempt, after that had non-o volunteer (bleh) and have been on covid stamps since (about 9? of them I think).
There's my wife, passport of Russia, same visas/stamps.
Also got a 2.5 years old kid with Ukrainian passport (didn't do any extensions for him).
Now, we actually did plan to go back to Ukraine before our current extension runs out, but obviously this is no longer possible because of the war. I do have a letter from the embassy stating that the return to Ukraine is not possible because of the war and asking for assistance.
The two questions are:
- will they (Koh Samui immigration) make an exception for myself based on the embassy letter, despite me having a non-o before?
- is there any way to convince them to do the same for my wife, who despite having a Russian passport, obviously lived together with us in Ukraine (having a Ukrainian husband and a Ukrainian child). Official translation of a marriage certificate perhaps - would that do any good?
I got my Thai Pass and QR code immediately. But not my visa!

The Thai Embassy in London are not responsible for approving the Thailand Pass. This is done by the Central Government authorities in Thailand so we ask you to bear with them or contact them directly, details above.
As for the visa, currently you do not need to post your passport and original supporting documents to the embassy.
Your visa application will be accessed online. The decision will be made within 3-7 working days from the date you submitted and paid for your visa application, providing that you submitted all the required documents. Your visa will be issued electronically, and emailed to you via the email address given to us.'
I contacted the embassy in DC about the system. Below is their response
Unfortunately, Royal Thai Embassy does not have access to the Thailand Pass system. However, there are three channels to contact the team who controls this system. Please find information in the following link regarding your application status.
[members only]
Please note that the result of your registration will be sent to your email within 7 business days after the system has successfully received your registration.
Hello did anybody know how i can update my COE ? I have wrong flight numbers there is too much zeros on flight numbers should be QR008 and QR836 . Is it bog issue ? Or i should order new COE? London Embasy. Thanks in advance.
Good news for some amnesty passport holders. For those on "amnesty"...some embassies are issuing letters saying words to the effect, "due to COVID....flight issues , lockdowns ...etc... please give due consideration to extending the visa of "John Doe"... reciprocal extensions will be considered for Thai citizens not able to fly from ...back to Thailand " The embassy letter can be taken to immigration in support of a 30 day extension beyond Sept 26, (Thai immigration ask for embassy letter) ...so my question (is not really for the resident experts or the die hards on retirement visas,) but for people in this amnesty situation who have actually taken an embassy letter to Thai mmigration ... What stamp did you actually get in your passport and could you attach or message me a photo of the extension stamp? Thanks.
Anyone got any advice? Finnair has just cancelled my flight again back to the UK. I was originally booked for 24 may. Then 4 July and last one 27 July. No explanation just cancelled and said they have no alternative flight to offer. When I checked on there flight booking's there are other flight date's?? Also this free visa runs out on 31 July what happens then?
I have one question, a friend of mine, from myanmar, lost his work permit. He reported it to the police, but apparently the labour department is still denying him the right to get a new one. What can be done?
