Probably asked a million times but lm wanting retirement visa NON O was told there's a NON OA visa. No 800k in the bank is it true and advantages of both?
We are married. For a retirement visa, do we both need to have 800k in a Thai bank (1600 total) or will 800k be sufficient for both of us. What are options if we don’t have the 1600k but want to stay for a year? TIA.
I’m on a non O based on retirement exp 7/7/25 I got it in Phetchabun using the 65k p/m route. We are in Kohl’s Pha-ngan on holiday and flying to Vietnam in a couple of weeks so thought I’d go to the immi here to get a single re entry. The officer here refused it saying I need to show financial statements? I tried explaining the previous but he said boss wants to see bank statements. This can’t be right surely ?
I am trying to come to Thailand from the USA in January with my Thai wife, my 20 year old daughter, and my American mother.
My mother is 82 years old and I am hearing it may be impossible to get health insurance for her. Is there a way around the requirement she have health insurance for the retirement visa.
Could we do a living with Thai family visa? Would that receive the requirement? Is there a good around through an agent?
Thanks for your help as I am concerned we may have to abandon the whole thing.
Ive been sending the 65KTHB was required monthly (from US) in order to get the 800K bunked back after the first year - which cycles around mid-January 2025.
It sure seems like many people have written to be incoming the same day every month or very close (and once it was 5 days from that) or very likely rejected - ie I wouldn’t be able to drop the requirement of keeping 800K after a year - is that true?
Also that they want to see it as looking like a pension amount - regularly deposited and sent out - and sometimes I put it in in several deposits the same day (like 35K + 10K + 20K) simply because Wise wouldn’t allow the whole 65K to go through at once except several days later.
So that also makes me wonder about the likelihood of them making me keep the 800K in another year
