Good evening, does TM 30 have an expiration date if I never leave Thailand? Someone told me that after 2 years I have to do the tm30 again even if I did not change address and I did not leave Thailand crossing the border. Is it true? Thank you
So I am wondering if one individual getting a DTV visa can move their residential address to Thailand, and if so how long after moving in can they do that.
So imagine I am arriving to Thailand on the 1st of January 2025 and I want to update my bank/broker/insurance residential address asap, and I also want to update my previous country of (tax) residence that I moved to Thailand and I am a tax resident there. Of course this detail will be important for banks and brokers too.
When can I do that? Day 1? July 1st (after 180 days +1)? Never?
I have a thai spouse… im too confused abt the visa. I want to do business in Thailand. I will come there on 17th so I think I have time to get the correct VISA on time.
I also have VISA on Arrival which is a tourist VISA which gives me 60 days to stay…
Hi everyone! Does anyone know how long the 500,000 THB needs to be in my bank account before applying for a DTV visa at the Thai Embassy in Jakarta? Any insights would be much appreciated!
Hey everyone and thanks in advance for your advice. My partner and I are in a fortunate position where we are moving to Thailand, and have the means to support ourselves while we explore our dreams on what we want to do with our lives career wise.
I'm an ecologist, and want to be able to volunteer my time and expertise but also learn from the various conservation projects going on around Thailand. I see Chiang Mai Uni has a great forest ecology department so I'll be dropping in there for a chat with the staff. If I've done my homework correctly I will need the Non immigrant business visa with a work permit to do any of this kind of hands on volunteer work. The question is, am I able to apply for this before I go to Thailand and before I've actually secured any of these volunteer ideas?
We're looking at a longer term visa option with the ability to become residents in the future
Hi everyone, advice please, is the new 60 day visa exemption, 2 times a year or not by air, so much conflicting advice, and if it is twice a year, is it a calendar year or a rolling year please
A banking question. Has anyone gotten or does anyone have a non-resident foreigner bank account.
I’m on a 90 day O visa foreigner pursuing long term stay or maybe residency in Thailand.
Can you use a virtual address for a non- resident foreigner account? I’m exploring the country right now and have read businesses in Thailand can have virtual addresses for bank accounts.
My thought is any little “tid bit” you can get done helps you get more established.
Lingering questions about DTV that I'm not sure have been answered yet:
— Can the 500k thb requirement be a USD equivalent in a US bank account, or does it *have* to be in a Thai Bank Account (I have one, but keeping that much in it for that long seems tedious and unnecessary). Concerned that transferring that much into my Thai bank account, if left unused, will have to be transferred back into my US account, but at a worse rate 🥴
— Dependents: will *each* dependent *also* need to pay 10k thb? Ex. I have four dependents. Will that be 40k thb for the dependents?
— Dependents: will each dependent require proof of an *additional* 500k per person?
— When more countries are added to the E-Visa online application system (one of their goals listed in their timeline—looking at SEA), will you be able to apply for DTV online from a neighboring country?
