Just did the border bounce at Mae Sai. I'm on a non-O multiple entry visa. Before stamping out I asked if I would be allowed back in, wich after checking documents (passport, non-O visa and vaccination certificate) got told would not be a problem. Myanmar side got asked how long I wanted to stay, reply 5 minutes. Had to pay 500 Baht and got stamped in and out no problem. Back at the Thai side handed over passport with non-O visa paper copy and got stamped back in 90 day extension no problem. All in all the whole proces took me 10 minutes.
Hi guys wanted to post this to see if it helps anyone.
I did the crossing on the date above and HAD NO ISSUES AT ALL.
I took the Green bus from CM bus terminal at 8am (470 THB one way which includes 7/11 fee ) It was full so if this is your only mode of transport don't leave it till the last minute to book.
Arrived at the border at 1:30pm
Was asked on the Thai side if I had vaccination cert which I did
Got stamped out and crossed the bridge as usual.
There is a small desk just before you get to the office to be stamped in and out of Burma
The lady took my passport and completed a form, all I had to do was sign it.
Then straight to the stamping office paid 500 THB, passport given back and back across the bridge.
Completed the arrival card and stamped back into Thailand.
Whole thing took around 15 minutes.
Even though they have the usual signs everywhere I myself and as far as I know everyone else were not asked to provide any kind of proof for re-entering.
Back to the bus terminal to catch the Green bus back to CM at 3pm. Plenty of time but it wasn't busy.
Both Thai and Burmese immigration officers were very freindly .
My yearly visa expires next month 10th of February going to exit from Bangkok where is the best borders I can do for visa stamp. Also is there a problem taking my Thai friend to come with me she doesn't have a vaccine. Please advise thanks
*Entering Thailand from Vientiane, Laos Border: No Vax or Insurance Proof Required*
I just entered Thailand about 2 hours ago. A simple process as usual for me and everybody else. They didn't ask for any proof of vaccine, or insurance.
Hey All, I just arrived at DMK - I was not asked for proof of vaccination. BUT I almost did not make it on my plane back from Vietnam because Airasia was giving me trouble accepting my photos of my vax cards (I’m double vaxed). A couple that wasn’t vaxed didn’t make it through. Please call your airline ahead of time and check with them. They appear to be much stricter than Thai immigration (at least AirAsia).
Tldr; airlines strict enforcement on double vax, Thai immigration at DMK not strict as of today.
