Iโm looking to do the covid 60 day visa extension due to the uk red list update. My visa expires on the 10th September and I just called the embassy to ask for a visa extension letter but they said they donโt provide them anymore. I was just wondering if anybody has any experience applying for the covid extension visa and if a letter from the embassy was required? I have already had one 30 day extension on my visa and so I am also curious as to whether or not that may be a problem?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about applying for a COVID-19 visa extension due to restrictions related to the UK red list. They noted that their current visa expires soon and expressed uncertainty about needing a letter from the embassy for the extension. Community members clarified that a letter is not required, sharing that the British Embassy no longer issues such letters and emphasizing that applicants can provide alternative documentation if asked. In addition, they were advised to directly consult with local immigration authorities.

Can't give them what does not exist; "COVID-19 Visa Extension Letters
The British Embassy no longer issues visa extension letters.
On Monday 2nd November 2020, the British Embassy Bangkok received verbal confirmation from Thai Immigration Bureau that Embassy letters are not required to extend visas within Thailand. Instead, you can complete an affidavit at your local Immigration Office.
If you want to remain in Thailand after your current visa expires, or you have questions about your immigration status in Thailand you should speak to your local Immigration Office or visit the Thai Immigration website."
Thanks! Called up my local immigration office in Prachin Buri and they asked for the letter so will see how I get on with the printout from the website
