Hi all

Sorry this has been asked before I have looked.

I am currently looking into doing a covid extension for end of may just putting togther all I need. I have got TM30 done on a TR visa on final 30 days extension as I understand you need a letter from your embassy (UK) in my case and they don't give out letters has anyone from UK got a covid extension how did you get around this requirement?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking guidance on how to secure a Covid extension for their TR visa without a required letter from the UK embassy, which does not issue such letters. The community offers various insights, including that some immigration offices do not request the letter at all. They suggest preparing a set of documents including a TM30, copies of passport pages, a departure card, and necessary forms. Additionally, one user recommends printing out a notice from the embassy's website to explain the situation if faced with complications at immigration.

To my knowledge, Bangkok immigration does not require this letter. I believe they require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms found in the files section of this group

4. 2x passport pictures

5. 1,900 THB.

Are you from the UK? Were you getting a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19?

For people from the UK, on the bottom of the embassy's webpage, there is a notice saying that they don't issue the letter. You'll print out a copy of the webpage, circle the notice, and use that as proof that they don't issue the letter.

Confusing? Yep!
