none, but was initiating an e-visa ....I do not expect there would be in your case , either..but wasn't in same circumstance.

lounge is open 24 hours for inter-flight at concourse D on the 3rd floor, the price is 1300.-THB. per person for 2 hours

Do I need to show a printed e-visa form for entry into Thailand?

Put email attachment ( though looks a bit innocuous) somewhere safe..that is the official notification and will be required again..gives visa #, it's lifetime and other personal info..there is no longer a full page visa just a stamp on entry with a small "e-visa" notation..

How difficult is the process for my Thai wife to obtain a Canadian visa?

Individual regular Income of the applicant is often the problem with Canadian applications ..and generally one is directed towards "sponsorship" applications otherwise...a much more tedious and complicated process.

However there may be allowances for marriage status, if things have changed.

As stated...a tourist visa entirely different than the "visa exempt" entry...

"visa exempt" is NOT a visa...

many problems can arise with the confusion of the two..

as many as the confusion with a border "bounce" and a border "visa run" ..

Both "confusions" are directly linked.
