I have a question in relation to the 65,000 pm deposit for a Non O retirement Visa .... for the 2nd yearly renewal.
First is it correct that the deposit method is only avaliabile where your Embassy will not verify your pension .... which I understand is Australia, USA and the UK?
If that is correct what happens if your nationality is not one of those countries but you have lived and are a permanent resident of one .... ie a New Zealander that has lived and worked in Australia for 25 plus years whose bank accounts, driver licence, tax, investments etc are all in Australia.
I realise no one other than Hua Hin immigration can give a definitive answer but ......?
In Thailand, a "trailing spouse" visa is now available for same-sex couples following the legalization of same-sex marriage, meaning that a non-Thai partner of a Thai citizen in a same-sex marriage can apply for a dependent visa to live in Thailand with their spouse.
If this is not an option, what other options does my wife have to stay while I work in Thailand?
Hi everyone, I have been here on DTV since September and I got the visa because of a remote opportunity I had at that time. The project has ended now but I still meet the funding requirement set by DTV. Now, I need to either extend my 180 day stay or do a border run. Does anyone know if not having a remote project will cause any issue at the immigration? Both land and air travel because its likely that I will visit Cambodia
Since Bangkok Immigration (Devision 1) has added Required Documents for DTV extension:
[members only]
Would anyone know if it’s possible to apply for DTV extension at Immigration in Bangkok, but based in Phuket? Meaning proof of Rent Agreement is for Phuket? Greatly appreciate your response without guessing 🙏🏻😉
Jast got my first yearly extension on my Non O marriage visa today did the paper work early December they put in passport come back 28th January immigration phoned yesterday to say all done and come in any time to get the stamp. I'm 10mins from them so went in this morning out in 15mins the whole thing from start to finish was just so easy I'm in Roi Et. Ps thanks Tod for some help earlier.
I am facing following situation: I have been on a retirement visa for a few years but want to change it as I will only be in Thailand for a few months per year. I have tried to get the DTV visa which has not yet been approved.
Now I am planning to leave on Jan 8, 2025 and come back 2 days later on a tourist visa which will hopefully grant me a 60 days stay. I am planning then to extent for another 30 days.
I am leaving for Germany around the 28th March but had planned to go to Japan within this 30 days extension time (around 15-25 March).
Or should I not get an extension at all, do a 5 day overstay, pay and come back 10 days on another normal tourist visa before I go to Germany until October.
Afternoon all, with the new E-visa recently introduced to most countries surrounding Thailand, how many days does it typically take for a 60 day Tourist Visa to be processed?
I have to exit Thailand and come back on an actual tourist visa (not visa exemption) so I can re-apply for the ED visa at Chaeng Watthana afterwards.
(I already had the ED visa before but my university didn't have the documents ready for my 6 months extension and now I have to leave the country and come back again after paying a 5 day overstay fine and getting a temporary 7 day extension).
The Thai E-visa website states it *could* take up to 15 days but I'm doubtful it would actually take that long?
Thinking of going to Kuala Lumpur or Cambodia to lodge the E visa application for tourist visa - does anyone have any recommendations?
Otherwise, a physical appointment at the Thai embassy in Vientiane, Laos may be a faster option?
Hi :) I have a Non-Immigrant O visa (marriage 90 days), I know I can apply for a 1-year visa after 45 days. does anyone know the minimum, e.g. is 15 days still enough or does it have to be at least 30 days? Thx for your help
Hi team, my 19 yr old son has been offered a job as a dive instructor in Thailand. He's a UK citizen and was born in the UK, and is currently living in then UK. Hes not been to Thailand yet and we dont have family there, he just fancied teaching people to dive there. I'm really confused as to whether he can take this job or not as I can't work out whether he can get a long term visa to allow him to work there.
Can anyone give me some advice on this, or point me in the right direction?
I am inquiring about the DTV for dependents. While I have researched the necessary documents, I would appreciate information from someone who has experience with the process about the requirements for dependent applications.
