I don't think being in another country than you entered is a problem as long as you have the stamp in your passport. Now if you don't provide other requested documents on time, yes it should be a problem.

just go to the immigration and say to them that you need to a letter to open an account. (For this letter you will need a photo, copy of your passaport and the TM30 + 500 baths.
