We had to renew our Certificate of Residence in Phuket. Since we had to wait for two months for the appointment and our old certificate expired in 30 days.

The lady said that we can go get it and then come back the same day for the drivers license.

We added a sponsorship letter in addition to our marriage certificate.

We looked up a flight number two months in advance when applying. A name of the place where you might be staying is enough. First the DTV Visa holder applies, after approval apply for the rest of the family, supplying the visa number to all dependents.

A friend (not sure if that matters - us citizen) of mine got approved for DTV in New York. She only showed an Airbnb reservation in New York for 1 month.
