I am moving to Thailand to be with my Thai wife in April and plan to retire there with her.
I understand that I will need a Spouse Visa. I hope to be in the Rayong area. Can anybody suggest somebody who could help with Visa, Bank Accounts, Driving Licence etc. TIA
Please help, I am confused. We are retiring in hua hin from new zealand. We know we have 60days, then extend to 30 more days but after that confused with an o visa , oa visa or retirement visa ? Thankyou
ADVICE PLEASE: For a 90 day Non-O Visa-holder who’s now in Thailand and on the 90 day clock, there’s so many disparate puzzle pieces to accrue bf applying for “1 Year Extension of Visa.” For example: There’s setting up a Bank account & Transferring 800k Tbt, Getting local Phone service, finding a permanent address with lease and TM30…. PLEASE SHARE from your experience what is the most logical order to tackle the tasks above, AND don’t hesitate to list the many I haven’t even thought of in this moment. Thank god this FB Group exists. It is a gift to newcomers!
Is there a visa agent or visa service that takes care of the guardian visa including opening up the bank account, funding the bank account for the guardian visa on the clients behalf then getting their money back once everything is approved? If you don't want to mention here openly please direct message me. Thank you
Ill be coming into Thailand on exempt visa from Usa. Im going for the retirment visa. Whats my very first step getting off the plane? Look for a place to live or just get a hotel room? Or go see an agent first? I could really use step 123 advice please. Thanks
This question gets so much spam it is making searching a pain in the ass. Elderly aunt has decided to relocate here so she can be around people who care for her final years. She is not very mobile so I want to avoid as much travel as possible. This means hopefully avoiding going to the embassy in the USA or here. I'd like to get her here on a tourist visa, get everything together, and get her moved over to a retirement visa. What is the "correct" answer for getting the bank account opened? I saw one post that looked like you could get some sort of letter of intent from immigration to bring to the bank?
Arriving in Thailand February/March of 2025. Once I get there I’ve decided to use an agent to get everything set up for retirement visa. I have a question about a bank account. Is it possible to set up two accounts under the same name at the same bank? I want to deposit the 800k baht in one account and then use a different account for day to day spending and deposits. I prefer not to have to worry about the 800k account falling below the required amount at any time. I know I can do this in the US, but not sure in Thailand as an expat. Thanks in advance!
Ok I'm arriving on the 6th. Planning on using an agent to get a bank account. Now I set up wise account and linked to my chase bank. I'm a US citizen. So will it be simple to transfer $30k usd to my thai account with wise? Will I run into troubles. Please let me know. Thanks
