Planning on getting a non immigration O visa later this year. Although I am married to a Thai national I have seen perhaps as I’m over 50 and can afford the financial requirements a retirement visa might be the way to go as opposed to a marriage visa, any thoughts! Thanks!

Sharing My Experience Entering Thailand with the DTV Visa

Today, upon arriving at immigration, I presented my passport, boarding pass, and printed DTV E-Visa. The immigration officer called someone, presumably her superior, and I was directed to another counter where I was asked:

* *"What were you doing for the last 3 months here?"* (Because I had a 60-day visa with a 30-day extension). I explained that I previously had a multiple visa for 6 months.

* *"Do you have a business here in Thailand?"* I responded, "No, I applied for a remote worker visa," and showed my employment contract from my email.

* *"Where are you going to stay in Thailand?"* I presented our 6-month apartment contract.

* *"Until when will you be staying here?*" I mentioned until June, showing my booked return ticket.

She then stamped my passport, confirmed my stay for 180 days (which I was already aware of), and wished me a Happy New Year before I left.

Just sharing my experience as it might not be the same for everyone - just a heads up!

Happy New Year Everyone! 🥳

Hi, does anyone have experience with applying for DTV being a new remote worker?

Situation is person has been on Ed visa for almost a year. They are now about to start remote work and apply for a DTV.

The work is legitimate remote online work with overseas company with contract. Can get letters, company registration etc if needed. Has required money in savings. Has lease already in place from time as student. Planning to apply in Hanoi.

Just concerned there’s no history of work with any employer previously. Has anyone else had issues applying with a new job?

Thanks !

Hi guys, I'm looking for the gardeners out there.

What can I grow from seeds at this time of year, food wise?

I'm living in the centre of Thailand which means it's pretty hot with little rain in the past 6 months.

I have built a nursery where I thin our my wife's plants but I want to BRANCH out into seeds and trees. (Sorry about the pun)

Thanks in advance

Good morning everyone ! My question : we all know that the first 90 days report must be done in person. But what happens when you go out of the country and you come back? Do you have to do in person the first 90 report after coming back, or can you send it by the post mail ? Thank you for your kind answers and have a good day !

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

I just went thru the threads (like I do when I log in every morning) and deleted the off-topic, whiny, posts by people that do NOT drive the topics forward.

I'm going to try to use small words so every one understands:

STAY ON TOPIC or FIND ANOTHER GROUP.

This is not a group where you come, commiserate about living in thailand, chew the fat, feel good group. It is one where you come ask questions, get your answers and that's it.

If you get your feelings hurt easily, especially when the real answer to your question isn't what you were told by some wing-nut, maybe this group isn't for you..

Thanx one and all to the contributors that DO provide accurate information. (y)
