I think I know the answers to my two questions but I would like to ask them anyway to get confirmation.
1 If I enter Thailand with a non O based on visiting Thai family, do I need to inform immigration if I leave the country within the 90 days?
2 Would there be any problem applying for another non O, at a later date, for example 6 months later, either in my home country or in Thailand, for the same reason, and with the intention of applying for an extension of stay based on marriage?
My Son is visiting me and entered on 60 stamp. Brit Passport. Is it possible for him to apply for a 30 day extension? He is a FIFO project manager and is between contracts..He is staying with me in KK.
Our son and his wife are visiting Thailand soon. They will come directly to our house. Based on what I read here we will have to report to the immigration office on arrival. Is that correct?
Dear experts, good morning. Before I head out the immigration office in RAYONG this week to apply for a 30 days extension on my 60 days exemption stay, I want to make sure I have it all together. I have the TM7 form filled out, rental contract, id and blue book copy for my house owner.. is there anything the immigration could ask in addition? Just want to make sure don’t need to go there again. Pretty far away from my stay.. TIA …
How many of you got certificate of residency after notification with TM30? For opening bank account, getting driving licence,..
.And what about the yellow book possible with DTV?
I still think about getting ED type visa for getting permit to stay as a student of a language course. As DTV seems like "non-Immigration" visa for short stay (same like these days 60 days visa for tourists) and ED type visa as immigration visa category. And only with the immigration category visa is possible to get the certificate of residency I guess.
In fact DTV is for more than 90 days so should be in category of immigration visa. Is that really notified as the same category as any other visa valid longer that 90 days?
I did my latest 90 days report online (Mid-March) and travelled out Thailand for Songkran, came back on the 16th of April.
I received an automatic email reminder from immigration that my next report will be due mid-June.
It seems like my quick trip out of the Kingdom wasn’t in the system, not sure if I should ignore this email since I’m not nearing the 90 days yet or should I do it anyway?
(In hindsight, I may have forgotten to re-enter data on the tm30 website when I came back to bkk… but still believe I did I’m unsure)
A question on applying for extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai. What proof of accommodation is accepted? We live in a condo in Bangkok that is owned by me and registered in my name. There is no house book. Will providing copies of the Chanote ( deeds) be sufficient along with showing them the original? I have also got the TM30 notification. I could also show utility bills and/ or credit card statements. TIA
Thought I would share my visa journey at Hua Hin immigration (retirement)
1) I already had a Thai bank account so I made sure I moved over the 800K
2) i obtained a tourist eVisa in my home country. I should have gotten a non O but I thought it had an insurance requirement (US) but they recently dropped this to align with all the other consulates around the world.
3) entered Thailand on the SETV
4) got all the bank paperwork and house owners info and applied for a Non O. Went back 2 weeks later for stamping of the 90 days.
5) 45 days later I went to get the yearly extension for 1900 baht and a reentry permit for 1000 baht. I didn’t have a tm30 because my new landlord would not do it. I was worried about it but the immigration officer didn’t seem to care and I think she did it for me. She stapled a ‘Receipt of notification’ in my passport which I think was proof of my new address.
I did change addresses between steps 4 and 5 which I thought would cause confusion but it didn’t.
