Is TM30 an absolute requirement for tourist visa 30 day extension?

UPDATE: went to LAK SI Immigration office for the 30 day extension and a TM30 was NOT required.

I did provide my lease agreement in lieu and it was sufficient. However, I too would recommend getting a TM30 just to be safe. Thanks all for your help below!

I will be starting dental treatment 2 March. My tourist visa expires 31 March. Am I able to apply for a dtv while still in Thailand. Or does this have to be done back in my home country.

I am looking for some clarity on the application process for a DTV visa (the remote worker one, based in Thailand working for a company outside of Thailand). If someone was already in Thailand on the 60 day visa exempt, could they travel to a neighbouring country after the 60 days and apply for the DTV visa from there? Say Vietnam for example. Or does it have to be applied for from their home country (in this case the UK)?

Also can the 60 day visa exempt be extended at an immigration office for 1,900 THB for another 30 days (90 in total) or is 60 days the max?

I m trying to gather all informations about DTV, I am currently in Thailand, with a tourist visa entry, I was hoping to get the best alternative to apply, if I understood good, you can’t apply for Thailand if you area already here ? What would be the best procedure and steps to follow? To extend my visa and leaves the country by the end of it apply from a border country? Ida there any “better” country to do this from? Seeing conflicting information online about required docs for visa exempt extension. Some places saying everything down to exit flights + bank statements and some places saying just show up with tm30, fill out the extension form, sign some papers, and pay.
