After reports in this group that TTB accepts the DTV for opening bank accounts, I visited the Central Festival Pattaya branch. And they refuse to even consider opening an account without a work permit.
Has anyone opened a bank account with them recently? If so, which branch? I don't mind going to Bangkok or another nearby city to open an account.
Has anyone on a DTV been able to open a bank account recently? I went to four banks, including Bangkok bank, and they all said that due to a recent policy they are not able to open bank accounts to DTV holders. I also asked an agent and he said the same thing 🤷🏻♂️
Not visa related but hope someone could suggest... So I have a Kasikorn debit card expiring this month and I need to renew it for another 5 years. However, my work permit is expiring this month too. The question is, will they give me a new debit card?
UPDATE : thank you so much for your help everybody ! I have found somebody who will kindly help me with that. ;-)
A request : I need to update my Bangkok Bank passbook, but I am outside Thailand at the moment. Would somebody trustworthy give me a hand ? I would send the passbook, you update it at an BKB ATM machine and send it back to me to Switzerland...
Can more than 1 Thai bank account at the same bank in the same name and been there for years adding up to over 400,000 be used for extension of stay based on marriage ? According to the immigration office today the answer is only 1 bank account. I cannot find anywhere on the web that's says that. One site does say that all statements ( plural ) and guarantee must be provided of which was done .Has anyone heard about that before. Had to pay 1900bt for 60 day ext and come back and apply again in 2 months when all the funds are in 1 account for 3 months and pay another 1900 bt. Been here for 10 years too.
Hi, I saw something about 50,000 baht limit with transfers to banks in Thailand. Wise has put this notification on their app(Kasikorn, Siam commercial not affected) . My query is is this amount daily, weekly etc.
I just tried to open a bank account at bkk bank. They said I need a form from immigration. I am on an Ed visa. Does anyone have any idea what form this is and what I need/need to do to get it? Do I need a card or id from my school?
