Can more than 1 Thai bank account at the same bank in the same name and been there for years adding up to over 400,000 be used for extension of stay based on marriage ? According to the immigration office today the answer is only 1 bank account.  I cannot find anywhere on the web that's says that.  One site does say that all statements ( plural ) and guarantee must be provided of which was done .Has anyone heard about that before. Had to pay 1900bt for 60 day ext and come back and apply again in 2 months when all the funds are in 1 account for 3 months and pay another 1900 bt. Been here for 10 years too.

That’s totally up to the IO when you apply. Definitely bring enough statements, bank books, etc to show proof that the total funds have been on deposit for the specified length of time at one bank in your name only. You mentioned “according to the office”, was that an actual IO or a flunky at the info desk? Which office?

probably goes without saying that there is unlikely any wiggle room with these financial requirements and best not to make your own interpretation of the rules without verification first. Should be smooth sailing from here. Good luck.

I was refused a retirement extension last week because the 800K wasn't in one account, but between two accounts at the same bank in my name; bank statements for both, bank letters for both.

you can't file an appeal now you already took another extension option. you can only appeal a decision right then, not after the fact, 😕

Pretty much you agreed to move the money let it sit 2 months and then go apply, that's the option you chose when you took that 60 day visit family extension 😕

There's no rule that says you couldn't use multiple accounts as long as they're in your name only and as long as you had TWO bank letters, two detail transaction histories, and updated both bank books on the date you applied.

I would have said you wanted to file a written appeal that you did not agree with the decision by the issuing officer.

Also the funds ONLY need to be in an account for 2 months before you apply for a marriage extension (that changed back in 2019) NOT 3 months.

All extensions cost 1900baht, so the 60 day one costs the same as the year extension. Not much you can do about that.
